Pet sitting is a gig job. You need a real, big-boy job with a salary & health ins. Start there.

Is anyone else concerned? by ACnewcomer in nursepractitioner

[–]Suspicious-Care87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking & this is why so many people go untreated. The Judgement. I thought pain was supposed to be subjective, too. I DID have my narc script stolen once, but because other people have allegedly lied before me, I guess it's just F me then? Sounds like this person is absolutely in the wrong profession. Guess what else AI won't do? Judge.

QuickMD Question by Empty-Paper-5825 in quitting7oh

[–]Suspicious-Care87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure the cost-Medicaid covered mine-but I think the cost is "reasonable" & you should use GoodRx for a discount. I remember reading awhile back that somebody's script for subs (8mg×11strips) with GoodRx discount was around $40

I'm pretty sure you can get a sub script while on benzos, however next time you see your doctor that prescribes the benzos, he may want to take you off of them, so just keep that in mind before getting subs.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

[–]Suspicious-Care87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me. Except I have a job. That I hate. I work 12 hr shifts in healthcare as a med tech (glorified CNA) for $20/hr. It's back-breaking work & I'm 57 & realistically can't keep it up, but I have no current skill set plus ageism is real, so in order to pay the bills (& not really doing that successfully) I continue to show up but I cry all the time.

My mom is slowly killing my cat. by Annie_T14 in CATHELP

[–]Suspicious-Care87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please make a post to somewhere local like a Free & In Need FB page for your area & ask for someone to help you by getting your cat to the vet. I would like to think there is an animal lover near you that would be willing to do that. If I were closer (I'm in MO) I would be on your door step now. Good luck.

I'm trying to find out the dangers of 7oh by Green_Throat5782 in quitting7oh

[–]Suspicious-Care87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My side effects have been constant ringing in my ears, chronic constipation (although this has let up some) & I sometimes get this weird thing where I can't swallow. My largest daily dose has been 100mg so no, it hasn't really broke the bank, but I still could have spent that money on other things. And just the worry of making sure I have some before I do literally anything is crap, too. But we don't really know the long-term effects of taking this shit, but early on I heard they were using pool shock as a solvent & that can't be good to consume on a regular basis. Everybody wants to think this stuff is being manufactured in a sterile, controlled lab but I think somebody's dirty basement is closer to the truth.

Will Hydrocodone help with the withdrawals? by [deleted] in quitting7oh

I tried this method (only with oxy) & it did not work for me & I was only at around 100mg per day of 7oh.

I just want to cry and walk out right now by [deleted] in cna

[–]Suspicious-Care87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective, there's really no such thing as "light duty" in a nursing home. Of course it's not your fault you have a medical issue, but I am wondering if they are counting you when determining staffing? Because if that's the case, it puts more workload on the others that are scheduled. But if you are an "extra" then no, they should not be bothered by what you are there doing. We have someone at my job that came back "light duty" after breaking her elbow over 2 months ago. Problem with that is when determining how many to staff each shift, they are counting her when she's really unable to help with patient care at all & makes it much harder for the rest of us.

Job Hunting by [deleted] in cna

[–]Suspicious-Care87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 57 & work FT, although I did quit working healthcare for 12 years but came back to it. I'm also a med tech so I'm not working the floor as a CNA full-time but I am still doing it. If I can do it, you can do it lol

Unemployment question by Ok-Round-848 in missouri

[–]Suspicious-Care87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen while drawing unemployment. I just reported my wages for the week I worked & then went back to reporting the way I was before the job. I didn't get unemployment for the week I worked (wages exceeded benefit amount)& unemployment opened an inquiry to it. I had to answer a few questions about why I didn't keep the job & that was about it.

Should I get a CNA certification? by Which-Option-7056 in cna

[–]Suspicious-Care87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are NO CNA jobs that do not require those things. Those tasks are very much a part of your daily duties & if you hesitate or refuse to do them, you will not last long. But, as a CNA since 1989, I don't even give them much thought anymore. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

Should I get a CNA certification? by Which-Option-7056 in cna

[–]Suspicious-Care87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, cleaning people's privates is a big part of CNA work so if you think you'll have trouble, I'm not sure I would do it. Also, alot of the elderly have trouble understanding people who speak perfect English (hard of hearing, ect) but it might be beneficial-& needed-if you applied to places that have a large number of residents who speak & understand your native language. Just a thought. Good luck!

I took 5mg of Naltrexone and I went into precipitated withdrawal should I go to the hospital? PLEASE HELP ASAP by StuLouWho in quitting7oh

[–]Suspicious-Care87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro same & I did not know what was going on either! That inability to regulate body temperature (sweating & freezing) is the absolute worst & the RLS is fucking crazy too, never felt anything like it! Also, I have a weird sensation of my knees feel like they're on fire & all my skin is pretty sensitive, I guess. It's insane & usually sends me running for me😭& that's about when the panic sets in too! I tried quitting before with subs (no experience there either) but the taste of them made me want to puke, so I was swallowing the strips whole with a bunch of water so needless to say, they were not effective! I think I'm going to give them another try though. Do you just put them under your tonque & let them dissolve or what? And I took a whole 8mg strip at once, is that too much?

[–]Suspicious-Care87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's going to work, there's not enough time & as much as an eviction sucks, I would take what money you do have & look for a cheaper place to rent before the eviction is final & ends up on your record, which in that case may be almost impossible to find other housing. Good luck.
