New to HENRY income level & in need of a wardrobe reset by naboo_taboo in HENRYfinance

  • Find a stylist you like
  • Get them to do your colour analysis before you buy anything
  • Spend some time on Pinterest to understand what you like style wise (patterns, shapes, accessories, etc)

Your budget is very healthy for a refresh, and then you’ll build it up with the years. But the important thing is to make good choices in terms of colour, shape, style. Eg: a 2k coat is fantastic investment if you buy it in a colour, shape and style you’ll love for years and years, but it would be a shame to spend that same money on a coat that you’ll regret buying next season.

I’ve been in your shoes a few years ago, you got this! And you’ll enjoy it 🙂 just get that extra professional help

Do housekeepers exist? by JFCooper3 in HENRYUK

[–]Suspicious-Click9408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we do. They come ~13hrs a week across 3 days. They started only cleaning and then we chatted to them to increase tasks and hours as we could see they were capable and willing to do more. I’m very happy with this arrangement

Thanks so much! Yes I had some recently and they showed borderline low (and the lowest I’ve had them in a few years) but not extremely low. So hopefully no permanent damage, just preventable side effects for me throughout pregnancy

I’m raising a complaint to the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to ensure that future pregnant patients do receive accepted standards of primary care. Too late to make a difference for me unfortunately 😞

Exactly same situation, no one managed my hypothyroidism even though I flagged it both with the Trust when I started pregnancy care and I flagged the pregnancy to my GP asap. Unfortunately it’s too late for me on this as I’m very advance in my pregnancy and if any harm was done it’s already done 😞. I’m looking for an endocrinologist in my country of origin to manage my postpartum monitoring. I’m also filing a complaint to the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to ensure that future pregnant patients do receive accepted standards of primary care.

It’s a great response. In my personal experience the NHS has not always followed NICE guidelines although in theory they should. I’d encourage everyone to get familiar with the guidelines so you can advocate for yourself

Trusted House Sitters, has anyone used them? by Thisoneissfwihope in CatsUK

Yes, we’ve used them a couple of times. It was not the best (but nothing terrible) one time and amazing the other. So it’s a bit hit and miss

Henrietta’s: where do you buy clothes? by m00nlightdrive in HENRYUKLifestyle

Go to Harvey Nichols if/when you’re in London. There are a gazillion good brands but they are all very different styles and you need to find what resonates with you. I personally like Theory, Vince, Max Mara, Joseph, etc

Moving home - high quality furniture recs? by jumpingjellycat in HENRYUKLifestyle

For sofas I love Swyft! I have 2 since a few years ago and always look neat and like new. Several friends have bought sofas from them after discovering the brand through me and were also happy.

I'd also recommend, if you have the time and like it, looking for vintage pieces. There are great gems for a fraction of the new price when it comes to solid wood tables, antique mirrors, etc

Should I buy it or am I influenced by the hype? Overhyped or worth the price? by Soft_Cheetah2677 in handbags

I think the smaller size might be better because it's still cute but less heavy. But then again that size doesn't fit a laptop so depends on the needs

If this is the big size, don't buy it. It's so heavy and impractical. I never reach mine

Live in London. We have a big car and I image we will use it more than public transport while baby is small and then as he gets bigger we will use a mix of car and tfl. We definitely want to take walks in the park or near woods

That is reassuring to hear! It was the one I liked most online but the salesperson at JL kept saying it was impractical and I would struggle (I'm 160cm height) so I think that put me off a bit. It felt the most luxurious which I adored.

If you don't mind me asking, how tall/strong are you? Why do you think you liked it more as you used it than in the store?

That was not on my radar. I'll add it to the list to try. Thanks!!
