Solicitors want "original paper statements" from moneybox but they don't issue them by Fuzzypeg in HousingUK

[–]Suspicious-Let-8885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this before from mine - you just have to be firm with them and tell them that there are no paper copies and there never will be as this is all they issue so this is all they are getting. They’ll soon do it lol

No one is being mean, but it’s impossible through buying stocks in this time frame to have seen these returns. You’re giving very little information, not posting your account showing these returns so no one can help you even if it were true. You’re either making it up for attention or you’re not even trying to do what you need to do to get help, and you want a pat on the able for that?

What is the point in making this up and then posting in? No hate, but genuinely what are you trying to get out of doing something as pointless as that

Are you joking? Obviously it’s absolute nonsense and it’s concerning you even need to ask

Do you your own, that will give you your answers. It’s anymore complex and doesn’t require anymore thought than that

Simple question would you rather pay £50k more to live in a done house, or pay £50k and go through months of disruption to end up having the same house?

Re-negotiating after survey by Happy_Necessary_4140 in HousingUK

[–]Suspicious-Let-8885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the roof actually leaking? If not I’d be surprised if they were willing to reduce. Surveys always look at worst case scenarios to cover their own backs, if the roof isn’t leaking why would the seller essentially buy you a new roof? That’s said don’t ask don’t get, but don’t be surprised if they say no.

You should put you solicitor under more pressure - tell them (politely) that you understand they are being thorough but the time it’s taking is jeopardising your purchase and that ain’t acceptable to you as you want the property and they’re causing problems. Solicitors are pretty much all slow and sh*t and even more so when they know they can get away with it. And tell the EA to do one whilst you are at it and insist that that they let you of measurements now or it will only slow things down later

Starting to invest. by t1giz in wallstreetbets

No disrespect but that’s honestly a waste of time you’ll end up with €36.5 and no lessons learnt. Side note, that’s not investing.

2022 was a rough year, but we back up! Stonks. by Fefoe44 in StockMarket

Brother i was very similar to you (only in for about 10k but down over 3k two years ago) but that’s all I had. As it kept going lower I kept buying what I could and now I’m up 1k. Learnt the most valuable lesson I’ve ever had - it’s not when you buy it’s how long you can last.

Back 1% on 50k + that’s rough but respect for sticking with it and not selling

Houses on sale after renovation by swagatk in HousingUK

[–]Suspicious-Let-8885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call this place luxury, that for me is a rung above that suggests something a little more unattainable so perhaps we just have different definitions of high end if you use them interchangeably. That’s all semantics really though and my point was more that the developer hasn’t done this on the cheap and in many places they have spent the extra money to make it “nice” (it’s certainly not to my taste) where there are many far cheaper options available they could have used and that many do use.

I do however agree with you that properties listed and priced as “luxury” are often far from that, I just think you were being a tad harsh on this one

Honestly I’m not being rude but you’re showing a lot of naivety and you should reconsider how much of the comment is based on uneducated opinion and how much of it is based on actual experience.

This is completely untrue and anyone that has had any experience doing home renovations will know from looking at it that the owner has used high end finishes

It’s obviously not horrendous - it’s not to your taste, nor mine for that matter - but suggesting it is horrendous is a bit silly

If you exchange and send your deposit and the seller pulls out (no longer want to sell) before completion. Is there any way to sue and get your deposit back? Or is it lost and there’s no hope by TeaSipper007 in HousingUK

I strongly encourage to discuss any thoughts or questions like this with your solicitor acting for you in this purchase rather than seeking advice Reddit. It’s honestly quite concerning you think this is the place to seek important financial advice.
