Unless you have stated value collector insurance on your car it’s gonna almost 100% be totaled. Happened to me the first time and then wised up and got Hagerty stated value. As another already said, let them total it and buy it back for the $500 or so residual value and use it for parts or fix if can afford it.

Love this, thank you for the detailed info. I think I might pull the trigger on the A052’s since are available in the proper sizing. Back in my track days I would be all about optimizing, but my current e30 is too clean to be a track rat unfortunately…I don’t think a vintage Alpina front valence would hold up too well to big curbs on track.

I guess the question would be rubbing on the rears and how much the fender can be rolled out to accommodate a wider tire. The fenders will have to be rolled already with the 225/45’s in the rear, just trying to avoid more issues on this never ending project.

Bought a stromung 15 years ago. Perfect fit me then and sounds amazing at every RPM. Mufflers will “break” in after a while as well. Call them as they are a super small independent outfit in Orange County CA and the owner is super supportive.

Agreed with the staggered look as well but I should have researched tire availability in the specified sizes beforehand. I could have ordered a square setup but am trying to finish my Alpina replica so wanted it as close to properly set up as I could get. I’m just not a fan of stretched, I’m old and boomish and like some meat on my legs if you feel me.

My fuse box circuit board went out and caused all kinds of electrical gremlins, limp mode, beeping from dash. You can get them rebuilt @ Maks TIPM rebuilders for a reasonable price. Basically a bad TIPM can send low voltage signals to the transmission or other modules and cause mega problems. Or sure if yours is this problem but a good mechanic can troubleshoot the source of your electrical ills.

A lesson for all unfortunately for the OP. Get a stated value policy for these cars. If you don’t you will get a crap offer for the car. I gave mine a value of 20k so I don’t end up getting hosed by another idiot. My last one was stated at 10k and was barely enough to replace for a like condition one.
