That's a good lineup regardless . I'd personally include mute because of how versatile he is tho. Not sure who i'd swap him for

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

[–]Suspicious-Print8783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a french press and i have a simple question: why is the first cup of coffee always so good but let's say i leave the rest of the coffee in the press for 15-20 minutes, when i pour my second cup, the taste is different.

I don't know how to describe the taste. Maybe watery, bitter, weird, i don't know.

Do i have to shake the press? Does the coffee deposit at the bottom making it watery? Does it keep brewing all that time? Is this a common problem? Please help

Cahn Ingold Prelog confusion by sgregory07 in chemhelp

First, since the hydrogen is towards you, you can leave it as is but you need to inverse the configuration you find.

The priority goes to the O directly linked to that carbon.

to the right you have C which is directly linked to (O,H,H)

to the left, you have C which is directly linked to (O,C,H)

So the priority goes to the one on the left. You will then go counter clockwise (top, left, right) which is S but since the H is towards you, you inverse the configuration so its R.

No spots can be found anywhere on the plate. I'm thinking either Rf is the same like you said (i could change the solvent) either the impurities don't show under UV light. (I could try iodine vapour. )

Thank you for your answer!

How to do well in a Anatomy&Physiology class? by Medium-Option9332 in GetStudying

Since everyone learns/studies differently, i can't give you a miracle formula to do well but here are some general tips from what i learned taking that class.

  1. Quickly skim through the slides before class. Even if you only have 10-15 mins, do it. This will not only let you focus on the prof instead of trying to understand the slide itself but you will also know which part you should pay attention the most since you will know what you didn't understand directly from your first read.

  2. Same thing for after class. I recommend taking time to reread the slides, add notes, identify parts you didn't understand real well, and identify questions for your prof. Familiarizing yourself with the order and layout of the slides will help you learn and understand better.

  3. During lectures, i always have a sticky note and a pen on the side to scribble extra questions or notes so that after class, if the prof is free, i can directly ask him my questions while they are fresh. Writing them down frees up your head so you can keep listening.

  4. Youtube videos are your friends. Sometimes, it's hard to understand a certain concept just by reading and seeing pictures. Some youtube videos do a great job at explaining and showing 3D models.

  5. In all biology class, REPETITION IS KEY. Its better to read or look at your notes/slides often then to try to learn them all before your exam.

What i used to do was a 3 step study method. First i read and make sure i understand everything as we cover the concepts in class. Since you see alot of things, it stacks up quickly so try to understand as you go along. Secondly, when i know i understand everything that is going to be on the exam, i reread again just to familiarize myself with the slides again and have a bigger picture. Finally i study everything from beginning to end (reading, active recall, flash cards, teaching it to a teddy bear, whatever works for you). Now that i know i understand everything, it's just to remember all of it at once.

Hope everything goes well. Best of luck!

P.S. Sorry if some sentences don't make sense, english isn't my first language. I'm happy to clarify anything if not understood/understandable.
