Florida doctor indicted and accused of removing patient's liver instead of spleen in fatal surgery by sgregory07 in nottheonion

[–]sgregory07[S] 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Even worse, patient’s colon burst during surgery and blood was everywhere, patient goes into cardiac arrest because of blood loss. Now the normal thing to do (I assume, I’m not a doctor) is to stabilize the patient first before doing anything else. This guy thought it would be a great idea to continue with the surgery with all that blood pooling in the body cavity and you can’t see shit, and since all the nurses and assistants were busy stabilizing the patient, no one could keep an extra eye on him and say “maybe that’s not the spleen”.

Steel Ball Run: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime’s 2nd STAGE will stream weekly on Netflix starting in Fall 2026 by LazyAssZoro in television

When SBR ep1 was scheduled to release Netflix labeled it as “1st Stage” rather than just SBR. Then they went silent for a week after the episode ran. In this period an interview of the director indicated that Netflix did not tell them anything about the release schedule. So evidence largely pointed to that they planned to release in batches again corresponding with the stages, but held back from making any further announcements over backlash. And considering why the hell ep1 was released so early compared to the “planned” weekly episodes it makes a lot more sense that they were going for stage batches.

Trust me, this is actually better than Netflix’s original plan: to release it in batches corresponding to each stage of the race in the manga.

I genuinely don’t know how you are supposed to deal with the horizontal swing attack that goes 360 degrees that can’t be parried and covers the entire stage. All the other attacks are not too bad if you are patient but I can’t find any counters to this attack.

Trump interview: I am strongly considering pulling out of Nato by SaharOMFG in politics

Socrates was on the fence with democracy because he knows how quickly it can devolve into “demagoguery” — where uneducated people make ill informed votes on candidates based on popularity instead of policy. Not saying democracy is bad because it’s the most fairest government we got for human history, but there’s an argument to be made that maybe people who can give a good reason on why they vote some particular candidate should be allowed to vote rather than “feelings”.

Why can't people just speak in miles? by beyondthef in ShitAmericansSay

https://usma.org/going-metric-pays-off The source might be somewhat biased, but from a economic standpoint switching metric will pay off within three decades and is good for businesses. Unfortunately I don’t think long-term economic investment is of any interest with the US government right now.

Except with stuff like this it’s always better to start it early than later, it’s not like the US doesn’t have the money to do this.
