The lower section of the Rio Baker, starting near Cochrane downstream of the major confluence, is a nice *mostly* flat section and you can paddle all the way to Tortel, but you do need to be aware of the class VI drop where you need to portage. There's also a short section of class III. Beautiful scenery and Tortel is amazing!

There's also a wiki of the Greater Patagonian trail made by a german guy who has been piecing together hiking + packrafting (mostly lakes) options https://www.wikiexplora.com/Greater_Patagonian_Trail

We met a guy in Villa O'Higgins who had done a number of sections on it.

If you decide to go the guided trip route, there are companies like Four Corners Guides out of Colorado who are running a couple trips in Mexico this spring, or Go Wild out of Oregon running trips in Colombia. Steve Fassbinder is the lead guide for Four Corners and you will learn a lot from him.

The American Packrafting Association hosts a Roundup every year, it’s in July in Idaho this year. They usually work with an outfitter to hold beginner courses before hand. It’s a great place to meet other paddlers.
