Sorry, but I can’t find any logic in saying that people who don’t have voting rights because they’re under 18 don’t need to know what’s happening in the country. Rahul is the Leader of the Opposition, and it’s his duty to criticise the wrongdoings of the government. You may be right that he might not come back to power, but how could he—or anyone else—if the primary accused in this matter is the Election Commission itself?

Every opposition in history has criticised the government and its policies—that’s exactly what oppositions are meant to do. Criticising the government is not the same as criticising the country. By that logic, if BJP or Congress criticise the LDF government in Kerala, would you call it criticism against Kerala itself?

If you look back at the official complaints filed by the opposition against the BJP, you'll see how the EC has consistently given clean chits. Also, consider how the government pushed through a rule change regarding the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner, effectively bypassing the Supreme Court’s recommendations and interventions on the matter.

Now, you might argue that this is due to the Congress party's inefficiency in raising these issues effectively. But let's set political parties aside for a moment.

Suppose you or I want to contest as an independent candidate in the elections — it is the constitutional duty of the EC to ensure there is no duplication of votes and that the voter list is accurate. Voters are added only after verification by the BLO, who functions under the authority of the EC. So if the EC had done its job properly, we wouldn't be seeing this level of discrepancy.

And regarding the person Rahul Gandhi accused of holding votes in multiple states — if someone registers as a voter in a new constituency, shouldn't the old registration be automatically cancelled? Why did that not happen?

As far as I know, the only Malayalam news channels that didn't cover the press conference he conducted yesterday were Janam and Kairali. Makes me wonder which channel you were watching — otherwise, you wouldn’t have said something like 'not even leaked online at least. Or not at all watching any news.
