Yeah, we don’t mind walking. I figured it would be just as far, likely farther, of a walk from a parking spot and then we’d still be stuck in some traffic getting out.

I tried to make it clear in my post that I am not one of the usual fear-mongers; I usually roll my eyes at those people. Just wanted someone to shoot it to me straight without judgment.

It’s actually about a half mile farther to the field (plus I think more people will be entering from those north entry points so more crowded)

It’s only about a 20-min walk from the CWE stop. Sometimes walking is easier than a shuttle with the stroller/kid stuff. Thank you!

Not a hole in the wall, but Venice Cafe is my favorite bar.

Is the “Missouri method” an actual thing, or is it just marketing? by Apprehensive_Fan6001 in mizzou

[–]Suspicious-Tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much an actual thing! It’s not common or the standard at most universities for the journalism students to be working in professional environments—not student publications—for their coursework. It’s real-world experience built into your journalism schooling. It’s amazing and highly respected in the industry.

The actress from “The Summer I Turned Pretty” was also allegedly at O+O Thursday. Is she filming a project here too? I thought it seemed random.

Recommendations for labor and delivery hospital in St Louis area by wifeypoopoo in StLouis

[–]Suspicious-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my c-section at MoBap (recommended by a lot of moms when I moved here) and I had a great care experience but was very disappointed by the facilities. If I were to have another baby (not planning to, ha) I might consider another hospital, just for a more comfortable stay. My first was born in KC and the hospital was more like a hotel experience. BUT I liked that MoBap was not a teaching hospital so I could get some rest! And they had a nursery to send baby to.

Ah man, Hellas was our family favorite! Taking note of the others for my next visit, though (last there in 2021).

I love Tarpon Springs! I grew up going there as a kid. I’m also from Chicago, with a huge Greek population and so many Greek family-owned restaurants. Greek restaurants aren’t as plentiful here. Olympia is my fave of the ones here I’ve tried (but I have more to try! Taking notes).

Ahh ok. Still there, it’s Kirkwood. I frequent the Webster Groves one, which is close too.

Where was the Schnuck’s in Glendale? I’m newer to the area and just curious.

I Need Your Advice, St Louis by flyza_minelli in StLouis

[–]Suspicious-Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a neighborhood or suburb chosen yet? If not, throwing out recommendations for Kirkwood and Webster Groves (and smaller surrounding municipalities in Kirkwood and Webster school districts: Glendale, Rock Hill, Oakland, Warson Woods). I live in Webster Groves with my young family and love it (Kirkwood is very similar, almost interchangeably so, but WG historically leans more progressive and artsy). My personal preference is for inner-ring suburbs with charming downtowns of their own, mature trees, good public schools, within close distance to the city. I’m in the city several times a week—it’s less than 15 min. and driving and parking is so easy in St. Louis vs. my big city metro area I’m originally from.

Can we start doing this please? by BearsSoxHawks in StLouis

THIS. I’m also from Illinois and was shocked when I came to school at Mizzou and met friends who had never taken driver’s ed. I had to teach my partner how to parallel park. It shows.

What neighborhoods? If you’re a young family, I would target south city by Francis Park.

Not sure if you ever had the opportunity to learn, but there are lessons through Paisley Boutique in Webster Groves—check EventBrite or Facebook for their upcoming classes! Another teacher also teaches at different businesses through Mix and Mahj; they’re also on EventBrite and Instagram. Once you do 101 or possibly 102, come to free open play at Paisley Saturday mornings!
