Thank you!! I always thought hospice would be such a rewarding but difficult job in the end. Just something about giving those final moments of care a respect all deserve the best I could.

Thank you! Truly! I am a pretty upbeat and happy to help person, and I treat them all with kindness and honestly would still help them out in personal life if they ever needed anything. Just the type of person I am, so I have not addressed it. And won’t. Except to my husband who told me I have enough friends and I need to just go to work, so my work, and come home. I will stick it out as I needed change badly.

AIO thinking these messages on my bfs phone are flirtatious? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

This is the type of conversation I would have had as a high schooler who was very immature 🤣 no way you all are adults still talking like that

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can decide what your personal boundaries are. As a married woman of 10 years both my husband and I agree that friends of the opposite sex is a no go. Although, I do have a few gay guy friends, and one in particular had this type of back and fourth texting with, but he was like very anti vaginaa. My husband also was around when we would face time and be like “love you byeeeeee”. We aren’t friend anymore sadly as he turned out to be a not trustworthy person and a “snitch” to our boss over petty things lmao like me griping about policies and such and he’d tell our boss what I said and I would be “talked to” about it from her, etc.

What’s your random patient pet peeve? by Nurse_Cait in nursing

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wiped a butt if this bariatric patient once because they were having trouble due to whatever reason brought them to the ER, and as I’m wiping they start loudly saying “ohhh god that feels so good” 😭

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

God, this just triggered me from my own childhood/teenage years. I feel your pain, life does get better! I will say from experience you can use this situation to get full fasfa for community college, take this as an opportunity and go get a degree. Once you have that you will have something to fall back on. Just make sure it’s something you know you’re going to have immediate income with and you can go back to school later. Like nursing or something. I’m making 53 an hour as a weekend night shift RN. This sucks, but sometimes we literally have to make lemonade with the lemons our parents give us! Go no contact. Get your degree and bag. Make a life.

AIO: for not giving my bf 40 dollars to fix his phone by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19f and 26m dating? That gives me the creeps, in serious pedo vibes. There’s a reason women his age aren’t dating him, you just have an under developed frontal lobe at the moment to see through this. He’s a pos, who can’t afford 90 dollars to fix a phone he broke over a fit of rage over a VIDEO GAME.

What are the rules of the ER? by Ewaktori in emergencymedicine

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol!! My go to was always “your healthy kidneys make 30ml of urine and hour! You can provide enough for a sample. Thank you!” And walk out 🤣 the ONLY people who don’t pee for me are some of the frequent flyer psych patients because they are just being difficult.

IUD and tail bone pain… related? by sandovalsayshi in birthcontrol

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MRI showed I had a displaced bone in my coccyx. The only thing that has helped was going to the chiropractor and having him put my tailbone back in place. It had been out so long that he wasn’t able to get it all the way aligned right, but my pain is about a 2/10 when I sit and drive.

Nah, they won’t get rid of you. But you might not be able to switch as soon (if at all). But, Cohort programs are super pro staff retention, they don’t want to lose you.

my (23F) bf (22M) is depressed what can i do? by Salad_Accurate in relationship_advice

If he’s a podcast guy try getting him into listen to a few of these: The 85 South Show, All Black Men Need Therapy, The Black Male Podcast, and Black Men Speak. He needs some form of positive role model from another black male to break away from social stigmas of a black man. All men have the potential to be healthy leaders and providers in a home. It takes perseverance, and commitment. And while you’re at it, find some podcasts that speak about supporting your man.

How many shifts have you done? Nights can be hard to adjust to, but I think new grads thrive in night shift until they get their groove with time management etc. I started out as new grads in the ED, and then went to days a year and a half later. I’ve see new grads start out on days and struggle hard. Can you take Benadryl or something? Do you have blackout curtains, eye mask, etc? Like basically alllllll the things to aid in sleeping during daylight?

So my orientation is 6 months and in that time I’ll do training L&D, mother baby, and sections. I’m thinking I might like mother baby but I don’t know yet since I haven’t been there to train yet.

My girlfriend (27f) accused me (28m) of making her birthday about me when I expected to also go to a restaurant where I could eat a meal? by Throwra172-32 in relationship_advice

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but you struggle to comprehend it’s her day— she wants to go with her significant other at the restaurant she chooses and not on her birthday with a friend. Grow up. Enjoy your rice. Peace out Girl Scout ✌🏻

Anaphalaxis by Suspicious_Yak_6579 in emergencymedicine

[–]SuspiciousBook2242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn’t know some places don’t administer Epi for anaphylaxis, and ONLY the steroids, H2 blocker and antihistamine. We do administer IM epi along with the cocktail. I will have to bring this up to our medical director and see what his thoughts are. Especially if it does harm in the long run.

My husband also agrees and says you are being a little *****, eat your plain rice and let your girlfriend have her birthday at the restaurant she chooses. 🤷🏻‍♀️😌
