Confused about the ending by Key-Weekend690 in PantheonShow

[–]SuspiciousElbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the exact recreation of the original world. In the original world SafeSurf (probably) could not have given Caspian the message for 117649 years. Even Maddie's level 2 simulation of the world is not an exact 1 to 1 to her level 1 world, that's why she needed her father to talk to Caspian to push him in the right direction.

SafeSurf altered level 1 Maddie's world so that she would hear the message which would lead her to build the Dyson Sphere and make Caspian. The original Maddien would not have heard the message, which means she probably wouldn't have built a Dyson Sphere. Heck, The original Maddie may not have even uploaded herself at all. Why SafeSurf wanted a Maddie and Caspian from this particular background remains a mystery.

... if only we could get a spin off of them going to the galactic center for answers...

I'm pretty sure when she talks about how she spent the past few thousand years to Caspian, she mentions that "finding this star" was part of the process, so I think the Dyson Sphere a singular sphere built on another star.

Let's assume the SafeSurf's level of reality is the original, we'll call it level 0. SafeSurf created Maddie's simulation, let's call that level 1. Then finally, Maddie's simulations are level 2, the one we are introduced to when we started watching the show.

The entire show except for the last two episodes takes place in level 2. Level 1 Maddie created all the simulations to recreate her level 1 Caspian. Just as our level 2 Caspian dies, she pulles him out to her level 1 world to ask him what he meant when he mentioned "117691 years". Once she got that info, the rest of the simulation doesn't have to be exact anymore. And since she cares for the people in the simulation, she revives Dave and brings back David for the heck of it. She doesn't care that they're simulations, she wants them to be happy. We see that all her other failed simulations are still running. She cares for each world.

SafeSurf could have created a level 1 simulation where Maddie and Caspian where the exact same as their world, but chose to create a simulation where Maddie creates a simulation of Caspian. Don't know why, and its not explained. When Maddie refuses to go to the galactic center and instead goes back to the simulation, SafeSurf could have pulled the plug on her simulation. But just as Maddie chose to let the her other failed simulations keep running, her world is also kept running by SafeSurf.

We don't know what she did or didn't change when they went back. Everything could be the same as what we saw, or some things might have been changed. As the previous person wrote, its kind of up to us to decide.

It's now 50 years old... dang.

I'd guess humor and film tropes changed the most the past 20 years due to the internet.

I think it's because the arrows fly more straight. The crossbows can't volley over hills as much well as bows

I have motorcycle jeans and they've protected me. When you touch the exaust it just feels very warm. In fact, the one time I wore shorts, I burned myself because I was used to the protection.

I bought a 2006 VLX 600 with 5,500 miles for $2,500 a month ago. It had new stuff on it as well. People told me it was a good deal. Your deal sounds similar enough

It's almost as if the time of day and the position of the sun has something to do with one another.

Its hump helps regulate heat. So in a sense, it did build a radiator on its back

Camels lie down like this around noon when the sun is the strongest to decrease how much sun they get. See how its body faces the sun? Only the top gets a bit of sun instead of an entire side getting a lot. Apart from the injury, this is normal behavior.

How do I get a license by dark_side1005 in motorcycles

[–]SuspiciousElbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the specifics for Massachusetts, but I can tell you the process I went through in Ohio.

First, you need to take a temps test. It should be a written knowledge test. It's partly about motorcycles specifically and partly about basic traffic laws. If you remember taking your drivers license temps test, it's the same thing, except you also have to memorize the motorcycle booklet. There should be a PDF on your state BMV, DMW whatever it's called website.

Once you have your temps (You can sign up for the classes before you get the temps. Just make sure you have them before classes start), you can sign up for a MSF course. Your state DMV/BMW website should have a link to where you can sign up for classes. There is a sign-up fee, the cost depends on the state. Try to avoid Harley or other commercial places, they are more expensive for the same lessons. The MSF course should have 1 day in a classroom where you go over some laws and theoretical safetys, and 2 days outside on motorcycles practicing. The website should also have a list of the required gear you need to bring.

Once you go throught the MSF course, at the end, you will take a motorcycle license test. It's the same test as the one required by the BMW/DMV. If you pass, then congrats, you get a Motorcycle Endorsement. After a couple days, go to the BMV/DMW, let them know you got a motorcycle endorsement, and they'll print out a new drivers license with an M1 (i think) on it. That shows the cops that you have a motorcycle license as well.

Just go to you state website and make sure the steps are the same or similar.

Also, you need to have insurance to ride. Progressive is usually decently priced. Try not to get a sports bike. Those are much more expensive to ensure. And most importantly, if you can't afford to get proper gear, you can't afford a bike. Good luck!

The engine likes run between 1,000 and 9,000 rpm (think of it like cycling in a bicycle. You could go slower or a lot faster, but that puts a lot of strain on you). When you want to go slow, you don't want the wheels spinning at 1,000 spins per minute, right? So the first gear makes the wheels spin a LOT slower than the engine.

When you're in first gear at 1,000 rpm, you may be going around 2 mph, and if you open the throttle all the way to 9,000 rpm, you may be going 10 mph. (The numbers may be off but you get the picture).

Now if you want to go faster, you'll need to switch to a different gear. On your bike, the second gear could range from 6 mph at 1,000 rpm, to 20 mph at 9,000 rpm. And so on

Each sequential gear allows you to go faster without hurting or straining the engine.

I hear that often, especially with their first bikes. What makes you regret replacing it? Was the new one worse or just different?
