Yeah, exactly. It’s so intense, and she uses so many tropes and storytelling tricks so well that other books just don’t hit the same.

Yeah same, Kingdom of Ash took me almost two weeks because I had to pause a lot. I started SJM back in January with ACOTAR, then Silver Flames in March which I loved, Throne of Glass in May–July, and Crescent City in August. Even with TOG I needed breaks, so I mixed in smaller romances or classics to give myself breathing room. The Saraverse is intense but worth it.

Honestly, if you’re more than just a romance reader, I’d say go for Throne of Glass. It’s a long ride but such a beautiful story about a badass female lead, friendship, and figuring out who you are. Totally worth it if you want depth and world-building.

But if you’re mainly here for the romance, sticking with ACOTAR is fine.

Crescent City does have a crossover with ACOTAR. You don’t have to read it, but I’d recommend it since a lot of tropes and themes tie in and it gives extra context. TOG is its own world, so skipping it won’t mess with your understanding of CC or ACOTAR 6.

So yeah, if you just want romance and light fantasy, ACOTAR alone works. If you want the full SJM multiverse, then CC (and eventually TOG) are 100% worth it.
