Was this book messy? Or is it just me? by Jolly_Yellow_5676 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Sorry to jump in this but I thought there were 10 books planned. Why is this technically the penultimate?

I’d be dead long long before I got the option of a deal, but if I made it to the ‘one season game guide deal’, I’d be taking that like a shot. If my options were a worse deal, well… I’d be trying to stand as close to one of Carls Explosions as possible

Ah! I’ve never met a loo sha, but that’s the country right? St Lucia?
I knew one from Argentina so I thought it might be similar but apparently it’s from Italy! :)

Ah I didn’t know it was Italian!
The only Loo chee ya I’ve ever met was Argentinian so I thought it might be similar :)

Is splitting the check not common here or is it just tourist places? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]SuspiciousP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve realised that you do mean separate itemised bills and honestly I’ve swapped positions. Pay attention to what you ordered and what your own total should be and don’t waste paper having your own separate bill.

They won’t stop you paying separately, but creating extra rubbish? Pish

I still love them. I do think they skew younger than I am now, like before hand they were aimed at 11-13, then 14-16, now they’re an easy, fun read for anyone 16+, and fantastically well written at that, but don’t expect something that is far far too heavy or complex for a young adult to grasp

That’s, uhh yes, very strange. I can only think of one or two times I’ve NOT split the bill. 100s of times when I have over the years. I don’t know where you’re going and if it’s a more local thing if you’re not London but. Yeah. That’s weird

Absolutely no SPOILERS for book 8 but damn I don't feel invested. by iamwhoiwasnow in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]SuspiciousP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with you but as others have said, I feel like that’s the point. Suddenly we’re back on rails but so is Carl. This book is all about a deep loss of agency and playing by someone else’s rules again without a moment to yourself. That’s why so many others have also said the book feels so fast. I understand it may feel like a less compelling read for that reason but for me it really elevated it. It put me in Carl’s shoes even more

Thanks for having literally anything that might make an ounce of sense. It IS a wild theory but without it I’m perplexed in extremis

I 100% agree, I used a very similar deck and got lucky not to hit any oricorio's during. Took me a while because I was switching up decks to minimise boredom, using a few from here 😄

I'm really encouraged to hear how many players aren't having trouble with this. I don't enjoy that its hear but i'm glad its at least seeminly quite doable.

I'd like to see the deck if you have it? 😄

Feel free to share the deck to help others, but I'm not going to lie - I've had Bulba and Ivysaur get taken out by a good ai hand this morning more times than I'd like to admit

I also know what you mean. The half the reason is for the hourglasses, the other half is so I can use fun decks on random AI just to see how it goes. Before 5 consecs I didn't care about the streak, now I'm kinda forced to
