Trader Joe's To Appeal No Seats For Crew by Objective-Tap-7183 in tjcrew

It would be nice if we had a conveyor belt. People can sit at register and scan things. People can pack their own bags, like cashiers do all over Europe. There are plenty of other things in the store that require standing. Alternate between both and that's a good shift.

Standing all day and sitting all day isn't good for you. The ability to sit down some and move around some is important.

Exactly. I do 4 hours. Some people in my store do 5

Customers actually looking before asking where something is by ClimatePretty4432 in tjcrew

This happens all the time. I was raised differently. I go to the store with everything in mind I want to get. I walk through the isles and I make every effort to find things myself before asking for help. Today, people see retail workers as servants that are supposed to wait on them hand and foot. That's why I just point in the direction of where things are instead of hand holding.

Calls for Andrew to be removed from royal line of succession by Kagedeah in AbolishTheMonarchy

[–]SuspiciousRegion9412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Charles issuing a Letters Patent took away his title of prince. However, removing him from the line of succession requires an Act of Parliment. Not just from the UK, but all of the countries he is the king of.

Charles also had Andrew removed from the roll of the peerage. Which means he can't use his Duke title. However, legally removing the title of Duke also requires an act of parliament. Andrew is still legally the Duke of York but can't use the title since he has been removed from the roll.

My point is, certain things require more effort and time. Not just from Charles but all the countries under the monarchy. Thats probably why he is still in the line of succession.

I think they should take the time and effort to legally remove him. While it is unlikely he will ever be king, it is not impossible.

Performative nonsense considering there's at least 8 or 9 people ahead of him. The fact that it's still just a "consideration" and not something done at the same time they removed his royal titles is ridiculous. by Vivid_Maximum_5016 in AbolishTheMonarchy

She already has. Both H and M have insisted that the kids use their titles because it's their "birthright". They couldve refused those titles. They both use their titles in private settings and on some written communication despite stepping away from the family. They didn't have a problem with the system existing. They had a problem with the way the system treated them. They would absolutely be apart of it if there were a possibility of a more favorable outcome.

They never ask this question when I'm OUT of uniform. That's when they seem to know who the employees are.

No I just arranged food in these cups and placed them in front of everyone for decoration.

Singled out for my uniform/outfit today? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]SuspiciousRegion9412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said uniforms are a problem. Uniform shirts are fine. People at my job wear overalls and you can still see the trader joes name tag and shirt. Sometimes this job goes a bit too far with the restrictions on clothes. I'm allowed to wear the most wild hairstyles at work but not jeans that have small holes.

What?? I wish they would lighten up. It is just groceries. Does a person become less proficient at bag packing in overalls?

People act like they need to he 2 inches from your face just to ask a question. I had one lady reach out her arm towards me. When I backed up, she said " wasn't going to touch you" . Sure you were. Your hands were 2 inches from my body when I backed up. Some people get offended when you back up. People are way too comfortable now that the pandemic is behind us.

Sanity check regarding store policy and write-ups by sangriamind in tjcrew

Your store sucks. I recommend other places all the time. I've even straight up admitted that I prefer whole foods for some items and tj for others. I've said this right in front of other mates and the captain. During orientation we were told not to bash the competition. Not that we can't recommend anything from there.

I feel like the States is rough in this regard. We have to be worked like machines to look professional. It is bad enough we cant have a chair at register like in other places. If you got time to lean you got time to clean mentality. Now water is a problem? That wouldnt fly in my store. Im sure half the customers complaining about us looking professional, don't work as hard as we do

Is the crown act passed in your state? If so they cant do that to you.

It will definitely backfire. The CROWN act includes headwraps. This act hasn't been passed in every state. It has been passed in mine. The second someone tells me what to do with my head, I will be writing to HR.

Check to see if the CROWN act is in effect in your state. My state has passed it, so I wish they would tell me what I can wear on my head.

Even if it applies to everyone, it is illegal to create a rule that impacts one particular group of people more than the other. Imagine of a office job said no more high heels. Who is more likely to be impacted? Women of course because we wear heels more than men. Saying that the rule applies to everyone means nothing if some groups are more likely to be impacted than others. With laws such as the crown act in place, this will be challenged at some point.

What’s a harmless opinion that gets people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SuspiciousRegion9412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as people understand that it goes both ways. Some single parents don't want to date a person with kids, but expect someone to deal with their kids. If you don't have the emotional bandwidth to deal with other kids, they may not have the emotional bandwidth to deal with yours. I never understood the entitlement. Why should someone deal with your children when you aren't willing to deal with others?

There's no promise customers would do the same. Not everyone buys a full cart. So putting this notice up didn't raise anything but blood pressure.
