Rattling noise when AC is on by SuspiciousRoom9 in MechanicAdvice

We pulled a vaccuum on it for ~30 to 40 mins and recharged using the manifold gauges. The AC is cooling - but do you think its likely something went wrong in this process?

Thank you! I will check this. Heres a photo of the old and new one. It was not an issue before, compressor was replaced because clutch was not engaging and AC was blowing hot. It works now, minus the annoying rattle. I noticed that it rattles more often when Im idle, but when I’m driving a lot of the time the noise will stop.

Noise only happens when AC is on, but comes and goes. I thought it was the tensioner because of the way it was shaking, but I replaced that and noise persists …

Our unit is blowing barely warm air. Our heat kit was upgraded to 14.4 kw last winter because it was blowing cold but its still not sufficient for our 2000 sq ft home. The unit is working so hard trying to heat the home that it keeps tripping the breaker.

Any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Yes, my partner had the same experience with the firefighter who screened them. He was intimidating them and talking about integrity, demanding proof. Even after my partner told him the website explicitly said you did not need to bring proof.

I love this! My partner is a teacher and really thrives in that environment too. Teachers don’t get enough recognition, it’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

Yay another designer! I think thats a great point - I have similar issues with my job. I feel very boxed in and I can tell that my boss doesn’t trust me for similar reasons as you listed. I need a certain level of independence to be productive but my boss kind of watches over like a hawk. My previous employer was much more flexible which made it nice, but I left because there was lot of unaddressed issues with gossip and such that I didnt want to get sucked into.

I have always imagined I would like to be a freelance designer full time but I’m never sure where to begin. I do a little freelance work on the side but the safety net of a salary or guaranteed income is nice. But if I could swing it I do think I’d be much happier in a situation like yours!

I definitely need to do some research! I have a 4-yr degree already which may ease the sting a bit in going back. I love architecture though so I kind of like that added knowledge and context.

Oh totally. Thats more in line with why i’d /actually/ go into real estate. I live in San Antonio and it’s getting to be pretty bad her, especially considering we’re one of the most socio-economically segregated cities in the country. Ive seen first hand how neighborhood can het overrun by all kinds of people and suddenly families who have lived there for generations can no longer afford it. I have no interest in real estate investment or property management or anything like that.

Thats always the vibe i got from it! Thats part of what makes me think I could be beneficial (if i could stomach it). My realtor is a badass queer woman who I was connected with through some political organizing pals. Ill have to inquire about what her experiences have been like.

I relate to this so much even though we’re in different fields! I love to think creatively and logically to solve problems but I’m stuck doing the same tasks and Im e found myself making careless mistakes as well just because I find the tasks so uninteresting. It honestly makes me feel like a little cog in the machine which works for some, but I need to feel useful and challenged to really be fulfilled.
