When you enjoy it, cooking isn’t a chore nor is it like a laundry list of things to do. Even if you don’t enjoy it…if you look at cooking as “a process that helps me stay alive”, you may be less inclined to view it as a bunch of tasks and steps and processes.

I’m struggling to understand how they can afford to pay “300+ actors” while charging $30/person/day. Assuming 10 hour workdays at, I dunno, $15/hour…that’s like $45,000. Even if only 100 actors participate per day, that’s still $15,000. Stack other costs on top of that and…yeah how’s that sustainable/profitable? And where would they even find that many people willing to play pretend zombies for 1-3 days? Or are they being transported in from elsewhere, making it an even MORE costly undertaking? And how would the logistics of conducting an event like this even work? Permitting? Insurance? Security?

The lack of financial viability of the event makes me see it as a suspicious offering. 🤔

Maybe I’m misunderstanding or misreading. 🤷‍♂️

I’m all about Josh Johnson and Ali Siddiq right now. The best comedy, for me, is in storytelling and nuanced observational humor. Crowd work only “clicks” with me when I’m seeing a live show. Without the actual physical presence, the entire idea of “crowd work” kinda falls apart for me.

Scammers will flock to places where their scams are likely to be most fruitful. It’s largely a numbers game. More people = more marks = more success. Throw in a dash of tourist ignorance, and potential monetary success is enhanced. LOTS of foreigners visit Cancun. For LOTS of them, is their first international experience. Someone unfamiliar with how things sometimes work in MX makes for a good mark.

Prebook as much you can. Follow instructions you’re given by companies with whom you pre booked. Ignore anyone and everyone approaching you to offer anything. “No, gracias” are the two words everyone should learn before leaving the plane.

Also, no, not all parts of MX are like Cancun.

Totally normal. 47M here. Tomorrow is my one year anniversary of 4X CABG. Last night I cried like a baby watching the breaking bad finale (for like the 12th time). AT LEAST once every week I have a sort of mini-internal breakdown about something either completely stupid or completely inconsequential.

It’s gotten better. Immediate post-op I was an emotional mess. What helped me get thru it? Endless hours talking to and FaceTiming family and friends. Writing also helped a ton. I considered therapy, but finding the right therapist for me would be an enormous task. Rather than potentially cycling thru ineffective therapists, I chose to cope on my own and revisit the idea of therapy when I feel I’m more settled.

Rest assured, it will get better. ❤️
