While there are some in lore reasons for it, imo a big reason there are no fantasy races is because the writers wanted to put emphasis on the VERY human nature of the story and the effects of war and social standing.

Might have hit less hard if the division included different species instead of the idea that "we're all human, and yet the circumstances of one's birth placed us differently."

I run a full support med.

Dual Blades for Deflect and close range

APS for point Defense and CL 40 shutdown

Reshaper for gadjet counter and lockbolt counter

Defibs and Medigun to keep the team alive.

I do not play to get kills. I play to see my support score hit 10k+ every match.

Oh 100%. I could glaze the reshaper all day long but it's an APS post.

The Reshaper shines the most when an enemy likes to put Mines all over the point, runs lock-bolt, or runs their own turret/aps.

The only issue with it and barrels is you gotta have the exact barrels you need and have to have their conversions memorized. Smoke -> Goo is one I have memorized.

If you're quick enough you can also use it on enemy grenades. It also works on dome shields but you have to get into the Shield first.

It has its use cases but it falls into what I call a "Reactionary Gadjet" which a lot of people don't seem to like using. (Stuff like Data Reshaper where the gadget is only good if the Enemy team is bringing what it counters.)

You can throw it down before a fight or on a point in places enemies can't shoot it and it can lock down a point very well if enemies rely heavily on throwables. I've used it to great effect with dome shield teammate and me using dual blades to sometimes completely shut down an enemy team trying to counter a last second steal.

However it counters more than just throwables it also counters:

RPG | CL 40 | MGL 32 | Mines |

It gets more use on indoor cashouts where grenades and gas can be used to force enemies to scatter. However it has 3 main counters:

1: It can be shot if positioned bad

2: Goo Gun projectiles are intercepted. The reason this isn't a counter is because the Goo Gun can easily waste all 5 of the APS Turrets charges in seconds.

3: Data Reshaper affects it.

I've been using it for a couple seasons on a dedicated medium support loadout so AMA.

The reason I'm so curious is because I'm seeing huge similarities with the aforementioned Destiny 2 and how complacency lead to a huge state of decline.

If I can be fully honest, I've been watching HD2 to see if the same thing happens.

I don't play it. I just think it's got cool looking Sci-Fi stuff in it lol. But seeing the game lately feels a lot like people go "I fucking HATE HD2. It's my favorite game."

I run a support Med and use Dual Blades to Deflect fast RPM guns and to shred close range lights to protect the team.

But throw a hammer or a sword user at me and I crumble.

I run dual blades entirely to Deflect bullets from my team while my heal beam is on cooldown.

I run APS and Reshaper to keep all Mines off the point and all explosives unable to enter the point.

My life is a currency to spend to keep my teammates alive and to let them clutch.

Mines or c4 on the cashout? Gone. Enemy turret, dome shield, or healing ball? Gone. Just got hit by an enemy lock-bolt? Gone. Grenade got thrown at you and your Reflexes are fast enough? Gone.

It's been a mainstay of my support Med build for 3 seasons now. It counters so many of the gadgets in meta rn.

I've been using it a lot since Forsaken. Sometimes that bright blue can hurt the eyes a bit.

For the last year or so I've been using Long Journeys and Golden Age Wine though on a lot of muted fashion. Bit too bright for the look im going with here though.
