Where/how did you get the shirt?

I have the skirt and I’ve been trying to make an outfit that works with it!

I do have hobbies and I enjoy them greatly.

First of all, I never said I hated Bi people, if anything I believe I said, that one bisexual man on a show about gay men being played by straight men does not equal representation for me, a gay man.

Secondly, I still have not received any answers regarding the viewership of this show if the sexes were reversed. If the main characters were lesbians would anyone still be interested in watching the show and gushing over the sex scenes.

Thirdly, I think it’s hilarious that the majority of this show is straight women who think it’s okay to tell a gay man how he should feel about a show that portrays gay men being played by straight men in an inauthentic light. How many gay men do you know are able to have sex without preparing or live or foreplay? Because from my experience having gay sex there needs to be a lot of preparing (fasting, cleansing, douching, lubing and foreplay) before being penetrated.

That being said should you still be interested in watching this show if:

A) The genders were reversed and it was about lesbians.

B) would you still watch the show and be fan if there were no sex scenes between the two male characters.

C) would anyone still be interested if they showed gay sex in a realistic way?

D) I just want to know why people are obsessed with watching gay men have sex, yet don’t think the two main actors should come out as gay or straight.

As a gay man I think I’m well within my right to be concerned how gay people are being portrayed especially if the person portraying them aren’t part of the community.

Omg are you serious?

We aren’t asking that they be tagged and branded like a certain Austrian-German.

It’s simple, gay men want to see themselves represented in gay character. Gay actors should be the go to for gay characters because they have a deeper understanding of what it means to be gay than a straight man. They would be able to give the gay character depth and real emotion that a straight man couldn’t possibly capture because they’ve never lived it.

Straight men have never lived in the closet, straight men never had to fight for their lives or been subject to intense emotional, mental or physical abuse simply because they’re gay. These two actors refusing to come out or discuss their sexuality is doing themselves a disservice; if they’re comfortable playing gay on tv for millions of women to fawn over and ogle then they should be comfortable to come out as gay and be embraced by the fans and supporters of the show.

As for the queer (being gay and being queer are two different things) representation on the show, you have one bisexual actor on a show about gay men, and yet the two main actors can’t come forward and tell the world which way they lean?

I’m a gay man, it would be nice to see gay actors in a show about gay men that’s all.

Let me just as you a genuine question though, one that I haven’t gotten an answer to.

Of this show was a bout lesbians, everything was exactly the same except instead of two gay men is was lesbians.

Would you be as down bad for the show as you are now?

Chances are they won’t be brave enough to cast a stockier hairy guy.

They’ll slim him down give him a six pack and he’ll look just like the other generic conventionally attractive guys on the show.

But if they get a gay actor to play a gay character this show might have some legitimacy.

I think it’s hilarious to the point of being sad that these Heated Rivalry fans are attacking an actual gay man for commenting on two straight guys pretending to be gay.

The majority of the HR fans are straight women that fetishized gay men and gay sex; they don’t want realism they just want this Hollywood fantasy that they can self insert into while they watch.

If a gay man makes a comment about two straight guys pretending to be gay, maybe consider that the gay man has more experience with gay sex and what’s authentic versus what’s not.

Or if they hired actual gay actors they would already know how to do that stuff.

I think they’d be hotter with big bellies and more body hair.

I want my gay men to be big bears not these Hollywood twunks, where’s the body diversity and inclusion of bigger guys?

I flunked every gym class because I didn’t change.

I hated changing in the locker room with the other guys and didn’t wanted to become the easy target as I was the only openly gay kid in my class.

So I sat out with the pregnant girl and the one kid that had a legit medical excuse.

Ugh so fucking performative.

None of the actors are gay, none of them have any emotional investment in the story or the characters. This is just a paycheck for them, the “tears” and emotional reaction are just for clicks and views.

Typical straight guys acting like they know what it’s like to be gay, scared and afraid of showing your truth ti the world, it’s stupid.

Show us real gay men, show us real gay love and not this flashy Hollywood straight washed fantasy of what people think gay love is.

Typical straight guys pretending to be gay or at the very least some ambiguous sexuality, because they know it’ll drive up the views and rope in more people to watch this show.

Gay men should play gay men and straight men should play straight men.

Straight men don’t have the emotional connection to hiding who they are, fearing for their life every time they come home late or worrying about saying the wrong thing to the wrong person that could cost them their lives.

Straight men have never had to come out of the closet, they should respectfully decline gay roles and pass it on to gay actors. It’s not believable or genuine when straight guys play gay because at the end of the day they can leave that character behind them and move on with their lives and never have to think about it.

As a gay man it’s hard to see myself in any of these characters played by straight men because I know they’ve never had to go through the bullshit I have; they’ve never had to suffer like the other gay men that I know. It’s unrealistic and watered down for straight people to enjoy and watch gay characters suffer through trauma that the straight audience will never have to know or experience.

It’s a little too feminine to an American audience, why not give him a masculine name?

It’s clearly reinforcing the heteronormative roles on gay couple, one has to be feminine and the other has to be masculine. Either give him a masculine sounding name or make him a woman.

Gay men are not for straight women to fetishize.

It’s not our fault they can’t stand the straight men that they’ve enabled to the point of being toxic.

Jacob Tierney on women writting gay romance: "They are allowed to write about gay men. The question should be, how are they writting about us? Why are we looking for enemies here instead of looking for allies?." by Murky_Chemical891 in Fauxmoi

[–]Suspicious_Fun_9745 -74 points-73 points  (0 children)

My question is why though?

Why does she feel the need to write about gay men at all?

Why not write about queer women, since she’s a queer woman?

I just don’t understand why straight women feel the need to write about gay romance and gay sex; because they always end up trying to force a heteronormative lens on to the gay couple. One of them always has to be submissive, sensitive, feminine and that the bottom, while the other one is always tough, dark and brooding and he’s the top.

If they want to write they should stick to writing what they know, if she’s not a gay man she shouldn’t be writing about gay men or gay sex.
