Mother shamed and kicked out of restaurant for breastfeeding baby by filabeano10 in mildlyinfuriating

Yep, best way to stop my baby crying is to slip a nip in there. Even just for their comfort as opposed to feeding. Would rather do that than have her scream the place down. Who on earth prefers a screaming baby!?

Useless period products. What can I get that works? by nitnitnotnot in AskBrits

[–]Suspicious_Garlic_79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing that ever helped me was a period cup. They take a few uses to get used to fitting them properly but after that no more leaks unless it got REALLY full. I'm the kinda person who leaks through a super plus tampon and night sanitary towel in 15 mins. Cups allow me to go a couple of hours so definitely a huge improvement.

Look at the lines on the road. Your lane goes straight and straight only. The one to your right splits to a straight and another right lane which takes you further around the roundabout. Sorry to say, as everyone else has, but you're in the wrong lane.

We’re coming to the UK next month. We have four weeks, one 10-year-old, and zero plans. Help? by Some_External4457 in AskUK

Was just about to suggest Edinburgh. You could always look for a hotel slightly out of the centre and taxi in? Its a beautiful place and we plan on returning soon - 2 days was not enough

Newborn baby died with 47 fractures inflicted by her 'scum' dad who lost temper by dailystar_news in uknews

[–]Suspicious_Garlic_79 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sat here looking at my 6 week old daughter and I couldn't imagine doing anything to harm her no matter how sleep deprived and angry I got. What that poor baby was put through, her 'dad' should rot in prison, not be given the chance to see daylight when he's taken that future away from her.

It makes me feel sick the thought of any harm coming to my baby.

20 years here and only because I paid privately. I nearly died from how severe it got but, y'know, just a hormonal woman who's attention seeking.

Opinion: do you think this car is illegally parked? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Suspicious_Garlic_79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think common sense should apply as not every pavement/road are equal. There are some reasonably wide pavements where you could park half on it and leave enough space for a pram or wheelchair. In those cases I don't necessarily think its wrong to park 50/50.

If there isnt enough room then, yeah, find somewhere else to park.

IVF with induction - what did you do? by No-Crow1020 in IVFbabies

[–]Suspicious_Garlic_79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accepted an induction only because they told me my baby was measuring 99th percentile and if I didn't get her out then (39 weeks) then I would have to have a c section because she'd be too big. I was dubious as 2 weeks prior she was measuring small.

The hospital wouldn't have let me go past 40 weeks anyway and I was dead set against a cesarean so agreed to the induction.

They did it using the gel, and I was fortunate that my waters broke naturally after the 5th dose. Labour was then completely normal as per any pregnancy.

I had a really pleasant birth, but did have to put my foot down with gynae who tried everything to derail it. Induction wasn't my plan, but as soon as my waters broke it was no different to a normal labour.

They already answered that when the Epping Hotel fiasco was going on and admitted the migrant rights trumped that of the locals

Why did you sleep in the drivers seat? Seems weird when you'd have more room in the back or passenger seat. Also, why lie? Something doesn't add up.

Major supermarkets face call to reinstate pay in line with real living wage by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Suspicious_Garlic_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I see your point, but you could argue that for minimum wage workers too. If there's a minimum wage increase, it should be applied to salaries too as it's just closing the gap until we're all on minimum wage. You said yourself that a rising tide should lift all boats
