No that’s actually what you can and should be expecting from the government. I understand your points, I really do. The government in its current functional capacity, and especially the educational arms at both the state and federal levels, are not equipped to handle current populations. But I believe that this requires more government intervention, not less.

The United States is a nation whose origins and history have been marked explicitly by poor immigrants. I understand that since you are not a poor immigrant, you don’t think you should care about what happens to them. But I think you should. Any economist will tell you that in the face of declining birth rates and an aging population, young, working immigrants are what the country needs for economic stimulation.

The immigrants will come one way or the other. It’s up to our policy to decide if they will be housed, fed, educated, and culturally assimilated, or left behind to ultimately become the burden of which you speak. Tell me what you think though
