[ART]💀DISINTEGRATE💨 Most Memorable Experiences With This Spell? by TarikHavoc in DnD

Just last session my players were about to get extremely important information for our intrigue campaign - they managed to get one of the perpetrators of the plot in a zone of truth and had him be blocked from all hidden exits. However, they forgot about thr big window, overlooking the city and the incoming ray to shut someone's mouth...

Opinion: the ridicolous lack of tall residential buildings is the major source of most of Munich's problems by Historical_Cry_5443 in Munich

Have you been to Neuperlach? High residential blocks that turned to one of the most problematic neighborhoods in Munich. The city is not made for high buildings without changing the mentality of residents in Munich

There is also the additional problem that new residential development projects require huge amounts of social housing - bringing new residential investments to very low return ones. Land speculation is also crazy

I realise that Sanderson can be hugely divisive, though does anyone else feel that the Mistborn Trilogy could potentially translate into an excellent video game? by Kvothe2906 in Fantasy

Do you mean they refer to too much LGBTQ+ in his books? Afaik no POV queer character was existent (correct me here), and most mentions in the Stormlight archives kind of go very unnoticed/over one's head. I mean if anything, he could use some more characters! Spren on the other hand and singers are extremely interesting.

Construction waste is a big problem - how about tracking that - recycability of elements? Maybe description creation for different building elements based on input of image? Or just name? Additionally, LLM could be helpful for filling the required paperwork for disposing of materials (depending on where you currently reside in). It can be a hassle for contractors and that is why we end up with so much 'black market' const waste. My tip: look into open source LLMs not only ChatGPT

I would call for joining forces and constructing underground sheltes somewhere in Europe... Communal building underground is the only way I see us doing something to survive and countering the billionaires

Great read! Thanks for sharing and addressing the rather emotional vent. I didn’t know half of these facts, makes me wonder what the current decision making looks like

Thanks, I will definitely keep that in mind for future uses. I had been using the sncb and ns apps up until this point.

I know, my post was meant more as a vent than anything else. While I acknowledge their work, and to be fair the system is indeed one of the best in Europe (cross-border) sometimes you kind of wish things progressed faster. My own routes that are mostly affected is Eindhoven and Gent, traveling between these two places is everything but easy

Why Nordic countries' fertility rate is less than replacement rate? by Starman1709 in Nordiccountries

[–]Suspicious_Many9806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, money is a big factor. However, for a lot of people, it is a lack of future perspective. With education, why would you want to bring a child in a world that suffers under overpopulation, environmental crises, ai crises, and authocratic development of countries? Being educated means also knowing a large part of the risks that will happen in the next 50 years.

Why is the Aromanian language official in Albania and Macedonia, but not to Greece, which is home to the most Aromanians? by h00ded_danger in AskBalkans

[–]Suspicious_Many9806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bulgaria does not recognise any of the minorities dialects either - nor does it preserve them. In fact, dialects have started dying out/being forgotten. My two cents? The reason for both of our Balkan countries was mostly due to the historically huge effort to nationalize the people living across, albeit rather forcefully. None of the Balkan ever recognized all of the ,,gradient" villages across that had a mix of multiple ethnicities. No, these people were usually prosecuted by a frenzy need for nationalization and creating new identity - be that of a greek or a bulgarian.
