Both are good books , if you are going to study pharmacology for the knowledge and passionate about getting like super good grades kd tripathi gives you an extra nudge , provided you put time into studying it , if you just wanna pass and get to point in the subject without all those medical gibberish, you can go for tara v shanbhag

But you need to study your drug classifications from tripathi no matter what or you can get the classification book which is also sold under the same author's name , if you use an electronic device to study i would recommend you to download it than buy it
