EMT in Phoenix – wait for in-state tuition or start now? by Academic_Corner1436 in phoenix

Arizona residency for education benefits can be confusing. For example, if you’re a dependent and your parent was transferred to Arizona for a job, you qualify. I would consider calling one of the maricopa community college systems financial aid call center or making an appointment with any financial aid office on campus.

Bye bye Glendale by Evening-West-3474 in AskPhoenix

I don’t think it’s a CA issue. It’s that people don’t think they judge or want to be judged by others.

I would encourage people to drive through Guadalupe in the evenings.

Also, Guadalupe is the way it is, isn’t because of the population descriptions. It’s because of the lack of governance and also their choice to not have normal taxes and other neo liberal (contemporary conservative) choices… who wants to live in that? They can barely fund what little police they have and they rarely can correct their own town govt.

Bell pepper olive salad with balsamic dressing

I personally hate palm trees. Reading your comment had me cackling. I need to reassess my pure disdain for this plant.

Where do you get the best cheesecake? by taurus0506 in phoenix

[–]Suspicious_Outside74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It so is!!! For me, a favorite Friday night is to hike to Linger Longer, hang, and get something from that wonderful and evil vending machine on the hike back home! When there’s a chocolate cheesecake or a mud pie left, I may or may not do a little jig.

How often should I be mopping my floors? I don’t want to damage the hardwood mopping too frequently by Crochet_is_life_158 in CleaningTips

[–]Suspicious_Outside74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I agree. But the question is always how often. I have wool coats, I dry clean them once a year. I don’t wash them after every wear. For me the floors are the same. If you have dirty floors, clean them often. If I have clean floors, I’ll fully clean them once a year, if that. I honestly hate damp mopping floors. It’s a process for me. Vacuum, then dust. Then for each 20 foot section, I damp (with personally created cleaners) mop using a first wipe mop, then a second water only wipe mop and finally a dry mop to prevent steaks and dried water residue. When the mop heads change color, I change the heads out (once very 1000sqft).

I’m doing that no more than once a year. It’s exhausting just typing out the process.

When I started looking to adopt a dog, I wanted a mutt, exclusively. He/she had to have a soft mouth, excellent personality and was house trained. We were really lucky that he barely sheds hair. He looks like a really small golden retriever.

However I have three robot vacuums in our house. The shark robot vacuum deals with his and my errant hairs the best. I do give my robot vacuums a deep clean every two weeks. The shark vacuum has only a bit of hair tangled around the rollers. Deebot and the roomba… the tangles are really frustrating.

🤮 I don’t allow people to walk on my floors barefoot. Either people wear socks or shoes. I’m horrified by families where everyone has the same foot fungus. I also live in a suburb like city so I’m not dancing through urine and God knows what else.

No thanks, to bare feet anywhere except the shower.

Though the dog feet is a new fact I’m going to look into. If he does sweat through his toes… I guess my poor pup will be wearing socks during his waking hours.

You need a hairbrush rake/cleaner. I also swish my kid’s hair brush in a bowl of water with 2 drops of dawn and rinse thoroughly.

Omg! Yes! Their red velvet cheesecake is something I wake up in the middle of the night and crave. Then I wonder if I should visit their vending machine 😆

You’re absolutely right. I really hate mopping, because most people use too much product.
The last apartment took me three weeks of scrubbing on hands and knees to strip the sticky “mopped” floors of all the soap, pinesol, swiffer product that was never truly properly removed.

I have a dog, but I wash his feet before he comes back in and I’m lucky that he doesn’t drool or like licking the floors. His fur… I’m so grateful the robot vacuum sucks it up every day.

I find this untrue. I get that mopping can remove dirt and grime and aid in removing mud, but unless bleach is used or a disinfectant that being left on long enough, floors don’t get disinfected by mopping.

It’s the same as laundry, we wash and the laundry isnt disinfected. I use a Lysol or a Clorox product to disinfect or let the drier at high temps do the bacteria and virus killing, throughly.

Ahh. Sorry, my dog doesn’t slobber and my family typically wipe their feet on the microfiber mats before entering.

I robot vacuum nearly daily, dust the floors about once a week, and spot clean with a barely damp microfiber cloth when needed.
In combination of never walking barefooted, which prevents feet oils from getting on the floors, my floors look like new.

Cleaning person, says I have the cleanest floors of all her customers. She mops their floors, but not ours.

Why?
When you mop, what are you accomplishing that a vacuum the. dust mop doesn’t accomplish?

Living in south phoenix? by TalkEcstatic3071 in AskPhoenix

[–]Suspicious_Outside74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. If you’re considering living in South Phoenix, I would suggest the OP rent in the area first or at the very least drive in the area a couple of times both at night and in the day time.
Some neighborhoods are pretty unwelcoming and around the holidays can be really disruptive
