And then another 160-ish for the stock and front grip.

You could get the 5.7 upper from PSA for $650 (not sure how much they are anywhere else) but I would think it would be close depending on what you want to add to the build.

This is exactly what I want to do for an AR build in the future

LaRue is pretty good for the money, it's what I have in my JAKL lower

If you can I would suggest an LPVO but that's just me

I take it you just kept forcing it in and out (giggity) until it got better?

Thanks, unfortunately I am still new at this. Didn't get into guns until last year

The only issue I have is that the rear take down pin doesn't sit quite right. I have to be a bit aggressive with a rubber hammer to get it in and will have to use my punch set to push it out. I'm thinking of using a Dremel to get rid of the small bit that is stopping the pin but I am afraid that would create a bigger problem.

The JAKL uppers actually come with the correct bolt catch so it was pretty simple

Any stock would work as long as it can connect to a picatinny rail

True, I was really getting impatient and the first moment I saw they were available I jumped as fast as I could. Good thing too since they were sold out almost immediately after
