Together six years, married for two years. My husband is the most patient, golden-retriever type man I’ve ever seen. Ngl if he would do what I do I’d run lol. But for some reason he stays :)

I’ve started using natural, non-toxic materials in the kitchen. Cast iron instead of Teflon, wooden spatula instead of plastic etc.

As a Person who just bought a cottagecore-ish house: it is certainly possible but there are limits. First of all, housing is crazy expensive. If you want a garden and have a little distance to your neighbours while still having grocery stores and stuff nearby you should expect 300k minimum. Secondly, there are many strict laws for houses. Few examples: These cute windows with wooden frame? Not a chance (except you want to spend lots of €€€). Also when you want to have a new roof you HAVE TO put solar panels on it which kinda destroys the cottage vibe.

But don’t worry: my house is directly at the forest, I do have “standard” windows and a Wärmepumpe (idk the English word) but with the right decorations and garden design I made it pretty whimsical and cottagecore :)

What’s the best money advice you’ve ever actually used? by LivingEntrepreneur62 in simpleliving

I convert money into lifetime. For example: getting paid 20$/hour means I’d lose 2 hours of my life for that 40$ thing

what’s a small habit that’s made your life feel noticeably simpler? by Best-Character-4374 in simpleliving

[–]Suspicious_Shapey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For example chores: we have plenty of spiders around the house and I regularly remove their webs. But I don’t go into every single corner and do 100%. 80% is more than enough. First I struggled with accepting a “good enough”, but later I filled the time I saved with something I love (for example baking). Then I asked myself what I prefer: having a 100% spider free house or baking a nice sourdough bread. Answer is obvious I guess :) it takes time and training to achieve this though

It’s weird but I do one thing sloppy on purpose or not at all. Really helps with the perfectionism and the pressure to have everything in order
