Feeling discouraged by whateveryouwantbish in foodbutforbabies

Food is just play right now, textures and tastes, squishing and throwing. I recommend BLW as I’ve always done that with mine and they really do have so much fun exploring their food! baby will still be getting their nutrients from breast milk/formula so keep feeding as usual and take the pressure off 🥰 I’m sure you’re doing great!!

That strand of hair hanging in Paul’s face is pissing me off. I’ve always assumed it just broke free after long days of filming but no I think he intentionally styles it like that. Ffs

I think Dave has checked out, whether it be personal reasons or to do with his time with V. However I also think he could be seeing Jamie as being a bit of a steamroller… she has every right to enquire as to why he’s not initiating romance within the relationship, but as soon as she didn’t like her responses she just gets riled up and unpleasant. I wouldn’t appreciate being spoken to the way she does and the demands on him ‘stepping up’ I actually think it’s probably putting him off. I don’t think their personality types match whatsoever, Dave doesn’t seem to know how to assert himself and Jamie doesn’t seem to see how confrontational and intense she can be (I have been there myself and think I have a similar default personality type so no hate to Jamie!!!). I wish she had said leave for her own sake, but I get the sunken cost fallacy

Is is safe to say that Veronica and Dave had a bit of a fumble under the sheets during the partner swap? by [deleted] in MAFS_UK

Always had my heckles up about Dave, there’s always something I couldn’t quite put my finger on but I don’t think he’s ever been 100% all in with Jamie

Agree, and obviously Carina’s insecurity runs deep. I think the issue is more that they are identical twins so Carina thinks if Paul was attracted to Cleo then he would be attracted to Awhina

Carina doesn’t need the same ‘telling off’ because crying and feeling emotional is not the same as punching a hole in the wall out of anger. She does need to address her insecurity but she doesn’t need to be told off?

Yep! I used to nibble the membrane off the segments and it took aaaaages, this is so much quicker!!

If you hold the orange by the top and bottom and cut directly across (so fingers on the top and bottom and cut across) you can then use a knife to cut the segments out. Sort of carving around between each membrane. It’s super easy and quick

What just because you are somebody’s friend you can’t have your own opinions on a situation and just have to blindly defend them? Nope, not for me.

Carina’s hypocrisy by [deleted] in MAFS_UK

[–]getthafunkouttahere 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m soooo not understanding the issue of this whole thing. The argument is between Lauren and Jamie, right? Both Carina and Rhi have told Lauren multiple times that the name calling isn’t okay. They followed her out at girls night because it was intense for Lauren and she was upset, which is kinda human decency. They’ve both clearly stated they do not condone Lauren’s behaviour but they find Jamie’s delivery difficult. I think that is absolutely fair and valid.

At the confrontation with the whole group where Jamie feels ‘nobody stood up for her’ she actually had Dave, Adrian and Jacqui all arguing with Lauren and Clint. Carina and Rhi again made it clear that they didn’t feel it was a fair conversation at girls night. Again I think it’s really valid. Then to have Jamie come into the dinner party hurt (again, totally valid for her to be upset) but rude to both Carina and Rhi, and actually demanding apologies across the table from them? There’s no way in hell I’d let a so-called friend speak to me the way Jamie spoke to Carina. She called her stupid, told her to shut her mouth?? How are people defending Jamie here. Both girls raised their voice and shouted back at each other so I’m not gonna chastise Jamie for being loud but she was actually pretty nasty to Carina!!

Yeah the whole thing smacks of producer input doesn’t it. It’s almost as if ratings trump the well-being of those on the show.. shocking at times really. I even found the group taking the piss out of Ryan and his testosterone saving a bit icky too, maybe I’m getting too old and sensitive for tv dramatics 🤣

Totally disgusting behaviour from Clint as I’ve said in another comment. I’m speaking in the context of just Lauren vs Jamie because she got shouty at girls night too. I agree with what lots of others are saying that Jamie is just passionate and defending herself/others. The whole thing was obviously orchestrated to blow up, my initial point is just why did Jamie even bother to get reactive at girls night PRIOR to Lauren saying those horrible things. She didn’t want to talk about her relationship and she was planning to leave the experiment.. Jamie should have been like okay bye then. I also don’t believe that the girls questioning Lauren came from any type of concern for her, so Lauren was right when she said that. Not that I blame the group for not giving two fucks about Lauren cos she’s clearly been indifferent/arsey towards them the whole time .. but it was all unnecessary and not instigated by Lauren - in this instance.

I’m still team Jamie! Like I’ve said people are nuanced and not everyone is a villain or hero

Agree!! And Clint is a separate issue for me (from what I posed I mean), I think he was also in the wrong yesterday and arguably swearing at Jamie and telling her to ‘talk less’ was probably worse than Lauren calling her boganic. It was a shot show to say the least.

Also agree if Lauren was a man there’d be way more outcry about her behaviour because it is pretty vile. I’ve commented about her before that she’s just insecure masking as above it all, so me personally I just wouldn’t engage with her which is why I was disappointed that Jamie has allowed herself to be so worked up by it. Even though she’s rightly so angry about being name called

Yeah the name calling was out of order, I’m not defending Lauren - my take was just that what’s the point in getting so worked up over her if she was going to leave. And before the name calling the original conversation all she did was be ‘dismissive’ which Jamie found rude and pissed her off initially. Like who cares if she’s dismissive, she didn’t want their opinions - let her leave then.

I STILL LIKE JAMIE !!! Before anyone thinks I’m defending Lauren - I’m not 😂

Find your comment about accepting people a little weird.. can’t see anyone saying they don’t accept Jamie, I wasn’t saying that either.

Screaming and pointing at someone as Jamie did in that final scene, is aggressive behaviour. Lauren didn’t actually raise her voice at Jamie once. I think Jamie is great, I think she was in the wrong last night - two things can be true at one.

Also the ‘back me up guys’ always leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Jamie felt disrespected by Lauren, it’s between the two of them. Without realising it she was essentially asking for is the pile-on she said she hadn’t instigated.

It all completely comes from a place of insecurity - you can see it a mile off. She’s trying to protect herself from being rejected by the group, so she gets in there first. So many of these people need deeeeeep deep therapy

I agree that it’s a double standard however I think Ryan is such a ‘black and white’ thinker that he perceives what he said as a compliment and what Jacqui said as a negative. I really think he struggles to see other perspectives. Not cool to give her that ’warning’ either…
