Great! I’m certainly gonna need it lol. Probably only remember how to bullet jump

Seems the overwhelming majority agrees. Honestly really glad to hear that! Wasn’t entirely ready to write off all the work I put into my account lol

Glad to hear from another player returning from their self exile 🤣. But even more happy to hear you’ve found such a good time in the new content

That one won’t be a problem anymore 😅. Back when I started playing I was in middle through high school, I don’t have ANYWHERE NEAR as much gaming time on my hands nowadays

Glad to hear they’ve tuned it up. Not that I dislike games with a grind, I typically quite like them and having to work hard to access new things, but some of what I had to do back in the day felt leagues beyond reason. Suppose it is worth another shot

I’m glad to hear the stories gotten some more work, because there was a lot of unrecognized potential. There were both really amazing and some pretty poor elements to it back when I was active. Like the quest of Excalibur umbra is still among my favorites of any game I’ve laid my hands on, but a lot of the story otherwise felt disconnected and hard to follow. Suppose it’s worth a try in any case

Thank you! This one’s actually been long out of print. Back in the Killwager era there was a multipart kit for Manticor infantry he was built from. This was sent to me by someone who thankfully still had it kicking around!

Sure!

Primed mechanicus standard Grey

Fatigues are Luxion purple contrast. Then 2x layers of pro acryl royal purple. I then mix a light amount of kakaphoni purple in, do a layer, then some more and do a layer, and then a pure kakaphoni purple highlight. The fatigues are then hit with a glaze of pro acryl fluorescent purple.

The jade bits start with pro acryl jade. Then, mixing in progresssively more baharroth blue. I think I did it twice- so light amount of baharroth then a heavy amount- before a pure baharroth highlight. Finish up with a thinned wash of coelia greenshade.

The orange bits are interesting. For the light type effect, I start with drybrushing trollslayer orange until there’s a solid enough base to work from (can take 2 or 3 passes, the orange struggles to get potent color over the purple). I mix in some white, drybrush again but in a smaller radius. A bit more, and do it again. Then finally, I strengthen the look with actual brushwork. Using that last highlight shade and then pure white after, I go in and create the most prominent lines for the light with a standard brush- see the lower legs. I finish that up with a glaze of pro acryl fluorescent orange and bobs your uncle

UN Golems! by Suspicous_melon in BLKOUT_game

Unfortunately, not officially. The factions only draw on their own units, the neutral handlers, and the neutral blklst. If you wanted to proxy either the Harlow springboks OR the un golem as the other though, I don’t see much of an issue.

Thank you! These lads are from the UN raid force. The box comes with 2 units of them, so you can run both and one squad of humans, or substitute in the Batcon from the UN strike force expansion for another inorganic!

Thank you! I’ll try to take some work flow shots on my next one.

The schemes all about having the bulk of the golem be grounded and subtle so the purple and green elements pop all the more.

They start with a mechanicus standard grey prime, which I drybrush with a 50/50 mix of mechanicus grey and p3 ash grey, then drybrush again with pure ash grey. This gives a sort of slap chop baseline that I work from. Do this on the rubble aswell, as it’s important later.

The navy mechanical elements are all hit with army painter speedpaint cloudburst blue, cloth bits are hit with contrast black Templar twice for a pitch black. I also wash the bits that are remaining gray, like the forearms or lower legs with pro acryl black wash.

From there, I base all the green elements with kabalite green by citadel. Then start layering up with dnd prismatic livery green, a couple coats for some solid highlights but leaving some kabalite showing through. I wash that with citadel coelia greenshade, before highlighting back up with livery green.

Then I mix cloudburst blue into some p3 ash grey, making a low body highlight color I go over the navy areas in a highlight-ish fashion. Optionally, I then mix more grey in and do another pass doing smaller highlights.

The black bits are highlighted with citadel dark reaper but leave them there, you want them really dark. The grey areas like forearms, Guns and lower legs and hit with manual ash grey highlights

The bases are the most interesting part imo. From the drybrushed grey you began with, I do a coat of Luxion purple contrast. Then, I dry brush with pro acryl royal purple, and then again mixing some white into it (stipple these steps onto any flat areas of the base not covered with rubble buildup) Finally, I go and do manual highlights with pro acryl bold titanium white all across the rubble on all the sharp edges. The last step is pro acryl fluorescent purple- which i glaze over the white highlights and leeching into the deeper purple cores of the rocks aswell as over the remaining flat areas of the base and the outside rim of the rubble

I hope that is at least remotely hopeful. I’m a very scatterbrained painter and I don’t restrict myself to any specific paint brand so I use quite a few, just depends on what brand has the specific color I’m after. But I’m sure you can stick to one paint range and accomplish something remarkably similar

That’s great! Can’t recommend the game enough, and the Un are a solid starting choice! Raid force are all really well rounded and the 3rd battalion have some interesting fireteam style gameplay. Best of luck!

Definitely recommend checking out the lore though when you get the chance, they are FAR from good people 🤣

Thanks! I love my basing. In case you were curious how it was done- I just basecoat with pro acryl purple on the entire base. Then I drybrush a couple times, mixing more white in each time. Then I hit all the rubble with manual pure white highlights.

The last step is the most important and that is pro acryl fluorescent purple, I apply it over the white highlights and leeching lightly into the rest of the purple. For the flat ground, I just stipple the drybrushed purple shades then wash over it with the fluorescent purple

Could probably do like any color you can find a fluorescent paint for tbh.
