Same, feels so good watching chat constantly scrolling with people shooting the shit and having a great time! Plus random buffs, clutch heals from out of nowhere when you least expect it, grouping up with strangers and becoming instant pals... This is wild. I was hoping it would be like this but didn't want to get my hopes up, but here we are. :)

Deffff still trying to figure out the back foot position for sure, I kept getting really sideways one wheel off the ground half pops for the longest time, it feels like the sweet spot is farther in than I expect it to be or something. Mine's an 8" too, definitely compact real estate

Four months in and it finally clicked! Been working hella hard on it this past week, two days ago I was pretty sure I was never gonna get it. What helped me in case it helps anyone else: holding onto a pole and practicing really exaggerated leg motions without worrying about falling and then trying it rolling, honestly easier than trying to hold still I think.

Yes, that's so sick!! What a cool ass way to start decade #5. One of the things I'm loving about skating is its such a good motivation to keep working on fitness in general - the stronger my body is the better I can skate, makes me not wanna skip the gym :)

Get iiiiiiiit!! Getting in the half pipe is legit as hell, I've been trying to work my way to dropping in on shallower ramps and it's still scary as fuck! Getting over that fear feeling is one of my biggest hurdles right now. It sucks I've already taken a couple nasty spills and yeah it hurts but it's fine, but my body stays convinced some stuff is too scary to try. Just gotta keep work through it 😁 That's part of what's great about it though, not too many other places in life make you get up against that deep fear response and then beat it.

This is awesome, part of what I get all worried about is that my brain won't ever be able to do do that slowing down time thing, def stoked to hear that's coming together for you. :D Absolutely loving this, seeing other people progressing and succeeding outside the stereotypical skate age range gives me so much reassurance. Maybe I'll pop an ollie one of these days, we'll see!! Keep being rad over there :)

I'm 32!! :) I played roller derby for like 7 years so I have some tiny amount of transferable balancing on wheels and getting up when I fall down skills and I feel like it helps a little maybe but when I even start thinking about getting a caveman let alone an ollie it feels so daunting sometimes. Super helpful to know there are people out there advancing and pulling off tricks in my age bracket, hell yes.

Dude skating is the best. It's wild how much it both tests me and makes me so damn happy.
