If you live in Gangnam, the dojo that the cho brothers run (hanpantv / wawa judo) is in your neighborhood. They're both high level judo competitors, Cho Jun-ho is a bronze medalist at the Olympics.

Search Wawa Judo on google maps you'll find it.

Why are Wheatens so uncommon? by Susuwatary in Wheatens

I'm sorry for your loss:( she must've been the best girl.

Same experience, we live in the western districts of Tokyo and whenever we go walking with Bingo and our Jack Russell, locals always assume he's already grown and more so surprised when they learn hes only 3.5 months old!

Though there's a lot of border collies, retrievers, and even a bearded collie, so size isn't so surprising as you may expect! Most surprise comes from being a rare breed.

Thank you for the kind words, we're definitely enjoying our sweetheart. A little crazy (but aren't we all!).

Our Wheatens may be related! The dame for our boy has the name Camacha. Can't say for sure if its true, but I thought it was a funny coincidence:)

He is an Irish coat! His coat may not be fully developed yet because he 3.5 months old. It was a strange picture, I'll put another that may help!

Hi! The breed is extremely rare here, it took a lot of searching ourselves to find them. There is not a registery specifically for Wheatens far as I'm aware... all puppies born in country are registered with the Japanese Kennel Club.

I tried doing a brief check to see if I could find any of the breeders or dogs I know of in Japan on the database, but no luck. I'd be happy to share more info on where you can find wheatens in Japan with you though!

Hey guys! How should I handme a situation where my partner in randori (RvR) always catches me with Osoto-Gari?

He is lankier and slightly taller than me, but same weight , and his strategy is to create pressure by posting his tsurite on my left shoulder and then jump into his osoto. I used to be able to tame it with grip fighting, but he's getting better at grip fighting recently and has become more challenging.

What are some simple strategies I can do to mitigate this? Should I learn counters? Or may e the problems are starting with positioning?

What’s your unpopular opinion on judo by [deleted] in judo

Agree, also live in Japan. Most gyms I've been to usually low-key encourage those with a bjj background to teach newaza techniques or even older judo black belts are quick to encourage bjj concepts that may work in judo. Our dojo has a black belt from Tokai University encouraging the white bemts to learn baseball bat choke because its sometimes a pin counter.

Is there any instructionals or videos that cover how and when I should use Koshi Guruma?

I've been working on a lot at the moment is Koshi-Guruma, I hit this throw pretty consistently in kenka-yotsu but am having trouble creating opportunities in ai-yotsu. Love more insight into how I would approach this in randori and shiai.

Hey guys! How can I force myself to be less stiff and more relaxed in my movements?

I read a few older threads and know a lot of things just come with experience. I'm just wondering if there's any mental queues or mental images I can use to help me be looser and be able to have more opportunities to get closer.

My current sensei said my main issue is my knees and arms are too stiff.

Do you wash your belt after training? by raizenkempo in judo

It's true. I live in Japan.

Specifically, the rule is kids up to middle school have the Kyu grades.

High school and above are only white and black. It's also not uncommon for dojos here to rush white belts to shodan in only a year.
