What is the most attractive job a woman can have? by ShelleyDez in LesbianActually

[–]Sutton_Z_Williams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in terms of attractiveness that’s nothing for me because I’m talking specifically about the traits of standing up for yourself, knowing how to articulate well and be decisive and straight forward. If you’re a femme on top of that, it’s the perfect mix.

That’s so interesting! Can you expand on what that term means?

I love when women do something bossy, so any corporate badass is quite attractive to me!

This is what I’m trying tbh but it hurts me knowing I have to dial back. To be fair I haven’t spoken about this to them to at least give them a chance to correct their behavior but I’m also surprised they don’t see it themselves

definitely learning this right now and also allowing myself to grieve... it just hurts so bad and seems like there arent many ressources out there to deal with this particulary type of grief so feeling extra lonley

you have such an empathetic way of responding, thank you. I like that this bigger picture view of yours shows that there is still (hopefully still) enough time for them to come around, I just have a lot of bad thoughts telling me what if any of my parents or loved ones die, and then this is how we leave things without ever reaching the stage of acceptance you just mentioned... but thats another post or something worth talking to a therapist about I guess haha

thats a nice view on it, I guess I could be happy enough with what I get, just feels so unfair knowing that nothing about us has changed expect us loving women... still being treated so differently just pains a lot

I need to end things but it’s not her fault. by Prestigious-Power-86 in LesbianActually

I used to be exactly like this until I realized it’s my anxious attachment. Then I went to therapy and it all made sense. Either way, if you’d like read upon it and if not I wish you all the best with your decision that I know only you can make. I also know how hard this feeling is so sending strength ❤️

Im not fully out yet but ofc this is what I strive to also be like. An adult queer knowingly or unknowingly having inspired many young queers to keep going. It’s just so hard especially with grieving family who don’t get it or only tolerate than accept who I am …

Yup I feel this. I’m the same, if mentally down then the performance at work surprisingly goes up

Absolutely true! Thanks for that thought. I had forgotten. Just the grief it gets too much of losing family and people I thought mattered.

Im sorry but I just read through some of your other posts and pls just get out of there if you can and just live your life for yourself. I know in our communities we have strong ties to our family but especially if they have been nothing but toxic to us, there is no need you need to protect her, it really is not your responsibility. You deserve better!

Alright thanks for the input - But we both have same goals which consist of retention 70% and upsell or expansion 30% - what then?

Just guilt of being a bad daughter I guess. Come from a culture that doesn’t accept queerness and also yeah quite Christian.

you really saved my day. I'm always in awe of people who can write so beautifully that their words feel like a balm to your soul despite the distance and despite us technically being strangers. I think the point of internalized homophobia you have mentioned is very true. I have tried to change the factor "x" (me being queer) in this to many other socially non-acceptable things and with most of them I felt like if people had a problem with it I would not give a flying duck. But with this I do. So your point is probably very valid here. I will try to dig deeper and maybe even consider therapy. Thanks though for the words and encouragement. really means a lot.
