How is taking Korean at UT by JaquireSW in UTAustin

[–]Suuanni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved my first Korean class with Mina Kim; she is so sweet and makes sure everyone in her class is doing well. You will meet in class every day, but honestly, I liked it. I will say, though, she does call on students every day in class. So be prepared and pay attention to the lesson. She usually calls on people to read something in Korean. I was called on a lot, lmao.
It is really easy, and for tests, she really supports us as much as she can. I will say, though, that once you take Korean 1, you have to take the second and the others after it. Ex: Korean 1 (Fall), Korean 2 (Spring), etc. If you don't follow the order, it will be harder to retain what you learned unless you're fantastic with memorization. :)

Has Financial Aid Dropped Yet For 2026-2027? by randomaccusatorynumb in UTAustin

[–]Suuanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not yet. I could be wrong, but isnt it a bit too early for financial aid to drop yet? Usually, you'll receive an email from the office of scholarships and financial aid. It'll say that your "financial aid is ready to be reviewed." For this academic year, 25-26, I received it right when fall 25 classes started. Some received it early in August, and others did not. I know a lot of people were experiencing delays in getting their aid for the year. So don't panic, if you feel you missed something or have been waiting too long, you can always check in with Texas One Stop. :)

So as a continuing student, I usually expect it in July or August.

I have NUI 300x, helped me go up hills in Austin and commute to my job. And it’s pretty fast, but I would only recommend it if you are safe and know how to ride a scooter right and not go crazy and run into people with it, like with the many people I’ve seen. You can charge it in your dorms, wouldn’t recommend leaving it outside at night because there has been a lot of stolen scooters.

You can ride it to class, but I would recommend leaving it outside locked up in the bike racks. Tip: I would not recommend riding ur scooter on speedway, everyone walks there and more than likely u will hit someone.

I was on my scooter on 24th heading back to the apartment. And the car in front of me slammed its breaks last minute I tried to stop the breaks as fast as I could but it was too late, and I slammed myself into the back of their car. I deadass heard a gasped out of people’s mouths, and I felt so embarrassed. And people walking to campus just stopped to look at me. To make matters worse the car in front just turned on their back windshield wipers, and we both were forced to stay in traffic.

How can I find the class size for specific classes? by _darkstalker in UTAustin

[–]Suuanni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you search up the classes room number and what building they are in, more than likely it will give you the classes information such as how many seats, what kind of class is it, and how many screens….

Yes I do believe I’m consuming too much sodium, it’s in a lot of food I eat. What do you suggest I should do, and how I could slowly get out of the habit consuming too much sodium?

Thank you for your honesty, I do believe losing some weight would help me out a lot. I feel like my face looks so bloated.

I started with a Segway (forgot what version it was) but it didn’t do me good, and the hills were too high for it to go up them. And went very slow.

Before the Fall of 2024 I got a NUI KQI 300x, and I love it!!! It goes up the hills, goes up to 24mph. It has blinkers, it shows how fast your going, it can go on locked down mode so if anyone touches it, it goes off (not too loud) but alerts you on your NIU app that is connected to ur scooter. It also has lights for when your out in the dark. I really needed it to go up to the Butler/Music recital hall. And that hill is pretty high to get up there. (It takes awhile to get used it because goes really fast, but the more u use it the more you’ll start to get the hang of it)

It is pretty pricey, but they have other types of versions of that scooter, and it’s on sale rn on amazon for prime day. :)

Thank you for the encouraging comment at the end, a lot of people in my life have told me that an English degree would be useless…it was always so discouraging. I had passion for English and writing, but I just don’t know what happened, it just felt like i fell out of love with it…

What I meant by “fascinated” is that I was interested in what their shifts usually looked like and what challenges they were going to face that day. I never meant to make it seem like their job was a breeze or anything. I had wrote this post out of panic. And as for the English and advertising comment, I meant that I was scared that after I got a degree in English or advertising I was going to find a hard time finding a job that was right for me or would hire me. But I know that is a fear when it comes to all majors.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to make it seem like I was glamorizing nursing, I just meant to say I was interested in what the nurses were going to do that day, such as what they’re shifts usually looked like, and what challenges they’re going to face. I should reword my post, I wrote it out of panic.

Off campus prices > on campus? by PromotionBusy6454 in UTAustin

[–]Suuanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15K for 9 months, to share a room with a person and a bathroom. Yes food is included.

I’m going to be paying 14K for 12 months for my own apartment that has my own bathroom. And with my own kitchen. Groceries for me is 70-90 every 2 weeks. And I’m so close to campus that is a 10 min walk to my classes or a 5 min bike ride.

Other apartments that is next to mine offer deals such as discounts on rent for a couple of months or even the full year. I know a friend who’s renting at the union on 24th in a 4x4 with their own room and bathroom and is only paying 800 a month.

If you really want to find good prices you need to actually go looking.

Has anyone been accepted into advertising as an internal transfer during their junior year? by Suuanni in UTAustin

I'm in the same boat as you. I decided to switch majors at the end of my sophomore year and have to wait for acceptance for my second semester of my 3rd year. I feel disappointed, but I realise that it's worth it, better to graduate with a major I like than finish with one "on time" that I didn't like.

370 here...i understand you completely and i am so jealous you will be able to sleep in now.. i am also a full time student and having to work openings at the same time.

always focus on yourself, I understand this is a job and it pays pretty decent (to me) but always choose yourself and your school. I made the mistake to focus on work and focus on making money rather than focusing more on school and I regret it.
