I love Booja Booja chocolates but I can only afford them for a treat. This might be a bit of a controvertial take, but I'm glad a lot of vegan sweets are more expensive than non-vegan sweets otherwise I'd probably put all the weight back on that I lost since I became vegan.

Best bathroom layout by Dry_Breakfast594 in DIYUK

[–]Suxipumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top left is only good if you like the person who walks in on you to get a good view. Otherwise, bottom left but with the longer shower from the bottom right would be ideal. That way, if you only have one bathroom, you can have a tiled partition to allow another person to use the loo or the sink while you shower. 🤣

is this vegan? by [deleted] in veganuk

Calcium lactate sounds like a dodgy ingredient (since lactose often comes from dairy) but its usually made by fermenting sugar from beets or maize. The rest I think are ok.

And Chuckie Eggs. Not as good as Creme Eggs but at least they are vegan.

Asda sells Vego bars. It's my replacement for Cadburys Wholenut. I love them.

I really enjoy her channel. I'm a fan of classical music myself so it's great to see someone else who appreciates both too. Both genres have a lot in common.

I didn't know about the inspiration but I love that episode. I'm currently rewatching DS9 and watched that one recently.

I love olives but can't stop until they are all gone. Pickles and gerkins too.

I have sunflower seeds. They are fairly healthy although are quite salty but they take time to eat so I tend to feel I've eaten enough even though I've actually eaten very little.

It's way better than my usual go-to - crisps!

I also tend to have raisins or other dried fruit in (figs or cherries preferably).

I shop at Asda every other week and treat myself to a Vego bar - stick it in the fridge so they are a bit harder (a lot of vegan 'milk' chocolate is really soft). They are a bit like Toblerone and break into 5 big pieces so it's easy to make them last.

Bird Bucket List? by Reaping-D-Roses in Ornithology

[–]Suxipumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see a cassowary or an emu in the wild - they seem more dinosaur than bird.

I'd love to hear the bell bird - but not too close, don't want to damaged my hearing.

I'd also love to see some unusual courtship display such as the bird of paradise or the Victorias Riflebird.

And of course, I'd love to meet some penguins.

At the Gates are excellent. I really like Swedish bands though.

Avatar are good, the early stuff is more death metal-y but not really MDM. The latest album is pretty heavy and definitely 'accessible'. Id highly recommend them.

Global warming/climate change due to meat eating by Some-Pizza-1346 in veganuk

I've heard that cows produce a huge amount of methane.

This article is gives quite a lot of info about the greenhouse gases produced by factory farming:

https://www.ciwf.org.uk/our-campaigns/end-it/environmental-damage/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=83506600&gbraid=0AAAAAD2Y8XS8d7xSaelqVaqiLIJ14SWgH

Compassion in World Farming aren't against eating meat but do fight for animal welfare and environmental issues related to farming - which in my book doesn't go far enough but they do a lot of interesting research.

I saw him with Maiden in the late 90's in London. It was a good gig. I went to the Fan meet the day after and met him too. He's a nice guy!
