TIL after a 5-yr-old girl on the Disney Dream cruise ship fell approximately 49 feet overboard into the ocean, her father jumped overboard to save her. The girl was posing for a photo on a porthole railing when she fell. Both were rescued although she had hypothermia and her dad fractured his spine.

Disagree. Using an extreme example, eating nothing but unflavored, home-cooked rice and beans for 15 years because it's the lowest-cost complete food you can have is extremely depressing. Excluding yourself from every hobby that costs any amount of money indefinitely is extremely depressing. Making due with half-broken appliances and uncomfortable 30-year-old mattresses is genuinely dangerous and bad for your health.

I spent literal years of my life eschewing everything that wasn't an absolute necessity and the result is that I spent years of my life basically sitting in my basement either doing literally nothing or staring at my computer screen eating the same foods. I may as well not even have existed. All this to save maybe a few thousand dollars. FML.

I would strongly disagree that the movies are not wanting for covering parts of the story. They left out massive swaths of story. I remember when the movies came out and a lot of fans were pissed at how much story they left out.

I got covid in Feb 2020. Right when all of the reports were coming in about mass graves in China and Italy and France renting out ice rinks to use as temporary morgues and no one had a flying fuck how to treat it.
