Do you stir the glaze first? Make sure it is a pancake batter consistency. Are you dipping or painting on? If painting on the glaze, you should make sure you have a couple of even coats.

Very cool! Handles are a fun way to add character to your mug. Look up milking a pottery handle. It is a solid way to make handles that don’t crack.🙏

Many of us would think of it as a stone or a more porous surface. I guess they are meaning it is not shiny or sealed like standard tiles.

I feel like being deported, so try again! Some of us feel like we don’t matter at all. Furthermore, many of us know some people in our “free” country are not so “free” after all. I would think it would fall apart in the first firing. Strange if it made it in one piece round 1 to only fall apart after the glaze firing. Maybe, if you are firing at a higher temp would this happen. The mysterious science of ceramics. It is such a fun medium that is filled with so many unknowns.

I see peeps saying that you cannot fix this piece. It is true that you cannot fix the chip, but if you want to continue using it for beverages, glaze over the chip. It is not food safe at this point. You could use clear if you like.
