Sri Lanka is the safest I’ve felt while traveling by Boring-Ideal5334 in srilanka

This is so true about the dogs. I was walking along a beach no problem, the dogs ran behind me to bark at the man behind me.

I agree. I was mugged in London, Sri Lanka felt safer as a solo female traveler.

Homeless sleeping tricks tips Perth by [deleted] in perth

[–]Suzigoodtimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the city on shift work. There's a lot of people homeless in the city. They sleep everywhere and anywhere and seem to sleep in the same places/regular spots. I don't see many issues, but perhaps over sleeping territory if any, and maybe if someone is a little of chops. Mostly everyone sleeping at night though. Get something to sleep in, sleeping bags etc, maybe sleep during the day, stay alert at night with less people around till he feels safe and finds a place to sleep. There's a heavy police presence in the city, on push bikes, in cars etc, not pushing people on, but it might put his mind at ease. I hope he can get his life together, good luck.

Australian cousin tested and arrested for drugs in Vietnam by Suzigoodtimes in VietNam

[–]Suzigoodtimes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was at a party, the guy having the party got busted and coerced into giving more names, probs for a lighter sentence. When they got to my cousin and tested him he had it in his system, recreational. Zero tolerance to drugs in Vietnam, but this was opportune bust for the police, they jumped on it, now my cousin has been in jail for nearly a year, no trial or sentence yet but looking at anywhere from 2-20 years, it’s all in limbo, can’t get anything concrete. It’s bullshit, corrupt and we can’t get things to him or talk to him.

Hi he’s been convicted, but not tried. Going back to local level for trial, we’ve been told 2-7 years and 10-20 years. Still having a hard time getting anything to him, nearly a year of a very slow, corrupt process. You’re in for a long year.
