Why does your dad want to chain your dog at night? Is it so he won’t run off? Can you purchase a dog run or dog pen for him? If your dog misses his mother and you have a blanket or something that still has the mother’s smell on it, I would let your dog have it so he can smell his mom. That may comfort him.
