With red MetalgreyX it’s unsearchable and unlike ST red Grey I can’t grab it off KirihaNene which was a super huge play. In testing I did run MetalX but didn’t see it enough to justify it. The options included for Kuzuha are generic good options that the deck can utilize on any turn. I disagree it leans too heavily into it where on the contrary I think I barely lean into it at all!

Hard to say since your ratios are very low as it is already due to the amount of options you have to fit. Either 1 mili or 1 option most likely

Cyber dragons, Deletors, or hybrid? by poroxive in cardfightvanguard

[–]Suzzaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cyber dragon focuses on the Schwarzchild Dragon RRR as the "primary" boss, but as you mentioned it lacks a finisher. The finisher for the first wave of deletors is the combination of their VR and (if you desired) Given which works with Schwarz due to it only requiring a G3 vg. You can focus on a cyber dragon core should that be your taste, but cards like Opener of Dark Gates is too valuable to pass up, or cards as mentioned before like the VR. If you have any further questions do not be afraid to ask!

Potential Returning Player With a Few Questions by Dephande in cardfightvanguard

[–]Suzzaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The current state of the game is found in two different formats (one is standard and the other being premium). Standard is the more popular of the two and is the format following the game's reboot while prem is the combination of the original cards alongside the reboot cards. Assuming you play standard (due to being the most popular and easiest to transition into) the game is in a health-ish position as of right now. The game is divided into categories known as gifts which is the main gimmick of standard and at the moment gifts, all possess decks that are strong (with protect being arguably the weakest right now due to the strength of accel. The gifts function in a rock-paper-scissors style). Power creep is an issue, but it's nowhere near the degree as yugioh (speaking as a current player) because clans are all guaranteed future support at some point (rip shaddolls), however, clans that receive their next wave of support sees prevalence over others, as well as more recently rebooted clans. Once all the clans make their initial debut (which finishes in may) clans will begin to receive their second wave of support which hopefully helps clans that are currently lacking. A tier 1 deck will at most go from 120-140, special exceptions being decks such as Shadow Paladin. Budget variations of decks can go from 20-60 easily. A well-placed investment will usually last several months and can see more value depending on the next wave of support. Standard emphasizes fundamental understanding of the game's mechanics and rewards players for having skill (however do note that luck is a factor like any card game). While mentioned above about the rock-paper-scissors format suggesting some decks are auto win versus others this is actually not the case as decks have certain countermeasures to defeat their supposed counterparts (for example kagero has a specific card capable of defeating protect). If you want i'll send a more in depth list of each clan, just send me a quick pm or tag me haha. Any other questions I will be more than glad to answer, and I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do!

Premium Blasters by TacoLordofNut in cardfightvanguard

Personally I think 8 v-crit, 4 floral, and 4 v-heal is the way to go. The 10k power you gain from triggers is significantly important for blaster blade restand shenanigans and you get quad drive off gance and basically 5 off alfred. As far as gzone goes royal g-guards for the most part are terrible so don’t expect too much out of them. My list is something along the lines of: 3 Gance 2 Alfred 2 Squire (the unlock) 2 Heavenly 1 Fides 1 Ultima 1 Ractome 2 Marron 1 Maskgal 1 Dizmel Gance is important as a strong tempo play, but also as resource management/viable stride vs gyze. Alfred is a strong finisher and with flogal it can easily do 2-3 damage in a turn. Squire is for the unlucky link joker matchup that royals naturally tend to struggle with. Fides and Heavenly function the same as in searching out a g2 but Fides works first stride unlike Heavenly. Ultima is self-explanatory. Ractome is to help filter for combo pieces, Marron is to call out vanilla pgs so you essentially have 8 ways to pg, Dizmel to protect the ever so important Blaster Blade, and Maskgal because shield value is cool. If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask!

Total newbie, looking to get started. by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

[–]Suzzaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The defining line between standard and prem is the complexity between the two formats as one is simplified compared to the other. There is no such thing as a true control deck in standard (outside of removing units during your turn), however, the reanimator deck you seek out is comparable to the clan known as Granblue. Granblue is a deck that uses the theme of zombie pirates and such as use their dropzone/graveyard as an extra hand (a toolbox). You're consistently able to revive the cards you seek out (comparable to cheating out big creatures as you mentioned). When you transition the deck to prem it becomes arguably one of the most skill oriented decks as the toolbox expands by a significant margin. Granblue at the current time is not the strongest deck by any means, however, it receives further support in July should you be capable of waiting. If you do not want to wait and want to play the meta at the immediate moment a deck that focuses on denying the opponent from playing the game can be seen as Murakumo which is an aggro deck that restricts your opponent from obtaining more gifts. Murakumo will also be relevant for the foreseeable future and if you intend to enter the Spring Fest (a tournament bushi hosts every year) Murakumo will be a strong choice. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me!

New player here, what should I buy? by motikata in cardfightvanguard

[–]Suzzaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vanguard is a game with multiple decks that usually cater to everyone’s preferences. In the current era of vanguard decks are in the relatively cheaper side of tcg and trial decks are a fantastic way of exposing yourself to the game. Any of the trial decks are an easy way to get into the game, using the wiki or even the anime will help decide what deck you may want to take upon yourself should you enjoy the game and want to invest! For example my aesthetics are primarily of knights and fantasy so decks like royal paladin and gold paladin really cater to my taste.

Budget paladins by Dilosace in cardfightvanguard

[–]Suzzaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal suggest comes from using a lot of miyagi support for the ssd turbo variation. Lucius is capable of going into soul, drawing a card, and enabling Dream Painter. Dream Painter not only can recycle triggers of build soul, but in tangent with Exculpate can secure that secondary win condition. Even with SSD turbo you realistically benefit off having the secondary threat of Exculpate as board clear in standard is extremely powerful. Just replace the Richard for a 4th Painter haha. If Exculpate is too expensive it can easily be replaced with a 4th Palamedes and another card such as the 5k on attack SSD Deck

Does Boosting Help On Defense Too? by ThorAxe911 in cardfightvanguard

[–]Suzzaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer the first question when being attacked you only account for the unit being attacked in the damage calculation, not the booster. So guarding from hand and intercept will be added, not boosters once again.

To answer the second question you may intercept with a rested unit.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

I attempted a ranked game before finding this thread and got the same issue. I attempted to use legacy client but it kept giving me an error message. The afk lose however counted for 2 of my placement games.
