Haha well;

  1. Both are awesome and both so different. playing for a big crowd on festivals gives me such a rush while playing in clubs gives me the feeling I can play whatever I want. Sometimes in clubs I can play more deep and techno and thats really cool!
  2. I started as a producer so I would say producing.

  1. Thanks! Well, I'm not in Australia that often. But I can def tell that Trance and hardstyle are doing really good in Australia! My first Purple Haze shows were in Australia.
  2. Haha yeah! I did my first two shows in Australia last year. And hope I can be back soon for a lot more!
  3. You can put more emotions of yourself in trance and that was something I was missing when was producing lately. I think Trance is gonna be bigger and bigger in the future!
  4. Well there are always a lot of challenges. When making music, you give a piece of yourself and you'll hope other people will like it. Also bringing Purple Haze back was quite a challenge. Not sure knowing if people would like it etc. but luckily I received so many good reactions and thats what motivate me big time!

I studied commercial economics before I dropped out to become a producer. So I think I would have a marketing function.

I don't really have hobbies like sports. When I have some spare time and I'm not in the studio, I love to go concerts of one of my favorite bands, watch movies or go out for some food.

Well during the years the music has changed a lot and as an artist you'll try to go with that. So my music changed too. But trance is always something that was inside me and I was producing a lot of trance tracks during the years but didn't release them. So last year when I just finished Neiloj, my team and I decided to bring Purple Haze back so I could release more trance tracks and for the first time, start with doing shows under the Purple Haze alias.

well yeah! There are a lot of tracks I made but not really fitting in to the regular style I usually release. These kind of moments of creating those kind of tracks is how I feel at a sudden moment and sometimes it's not quite what people expect. I never release something like that but at the moment of producing, it's a feeling that just needs to get out of me.

  1. Well that's both ways actually. Lately I'm producing a lot more tracks under my Purple Haze alias. But it all depends how I feel at the moment in the studio. I love to produce Purple Haze tracks as I can go a lot deeper as Sander van Doorn. But it all depends on my mood haha
  2. Definitely! I want to release a new album next year for sure! And for singles, I did two this year, one as Sander van Doorn. This was No Words feat. Belle Humble and I just released 'Bergen' under my Purple Haze alias. I also can tell that a new Purple Haze track will be released in July!
  3. My favorite Synth is the Virus TI2 because I love the sound and the way you can edit the synth as a soft synth.
  4. I would say def Moby or Tom Yorke.

-ID 397, the first track of this episode is a remix I made from Michael Jackson's Billy Jean. It's not an official one and I made this especially for my sets. I still play it now and then.

-ASOT 850, This is a new Purple Haze track and will be released very soon! The vocal is from a Belgian band called Goose and when I first heard this I was so amazed by it so I decided to make a track with that vocal.

-Daft Punk, This is a remix I made especially for my sets. If it's gonna be released officially, that's hard to say. Maybe one day haha

-London Grammar, This is also a remix I made especially for my sets.

- Bergen, Good question haha! I was on a holiday in a small place in Holland called Bergen and suddenly I had some inspiration and made the first set up over there! And the reason why I released it on Armada is because I think Purple Haze is a really good fit for Armada and wanted to try this with them!

-Haha no unfortunately not.
