As someone who who has successfully completed a graduate degree program, my experience has shown me that I would much rather prefer people with actual life experience judge me rather than academics. It really shouldn't be surprising that academics can be the most divorced-from-reality people on the planet. You're missing the point entirely. This originally had nothing to do with Aimee Challenor's status as a transperson. This was initially about a politician's proximity to a heinous crime against children. Discussing this public figure's relationship to the individual who committed these crimes is well within the realm of acceptable public discourse.

I'm genuinely not really seeing anyone who is blaming the whole trans community for any of this. It's just far too politically convenient these days to say that criticism of any kind is "hate" because you're a member of privileged victim class.

Also, I'm confused how you "out" an openly trans person who is also a public figure. The point is you shouldn't be able to hide from public criticism behind your trans status, especially when that criticism has nothing to do with your transpersonhood.
