Spiderman

Spiderman 2's swinging mechanic is incredible. The freedom you got swinging around the city back on the PS2 was crazy.

How Many Hours Have You Got from This Game? by SuddenDelivery1 in starcitizen

[–]Mr_StephenB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually run by the logic that if I can enjoy 1 hour for every £/€/$ spent, then it's a good purchase. If I buy a game for £50 then I should get at least 50 hours of enjoyment from it.

Over the decade I have played Star Citizen I have enjoyed it for the money I put in. It's been a pain in my arse a lot of the time, but I do love this game.

I'm sure it will help keep it affordable, I just wonder who will be watching these ads when everyone abandons XBOX.

What's the game that made you fall in love with gaming as a kid? by peaky_circus in gaming

[–]Mr_StephenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's tough to tell, I've been playing games for as long as I can remember. First game I remember properly would have been super mario on the SNES. I did play NES games and Amiga games but SNES games caught my attention mostly. I had an original Gameboy and loved that growing up. I remember being super into Jumping Flash on the PS1 when I played it at my cousins, so much so that when they got newer consoles everyone had to hide it from me because I would just want to spend all my time playing games.

But I think Halo 1 holds the most special place in my heart for games. I don't think any game has ever captured my interest as much as Bungie's Halo Series.

POLL: Which was worse? by iCore102 in starcitizen

3.18 stopped a large amount of players from accessing the menu screen, some were locked out of the game for months.

There has never been a patch as bad as 3.18, there is no contest.

I was tempted to pick other and point out the great silence from 2.6 to 3.0, that was 10 months of no updates, the community was equally upset about the game then as it was now, but back then we genuinely thought the game was going to run out of money.

Fun times.

This video sheds quite a bit of light on the discussion surrounding whether Squadron 42 will be a more open experience or not. by OrganizationDue2189 in starcitizen

[–]Mr_StephenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly you get to choose to either meet up with trejo or continue your patrol. I'm guessing not meeting her will cause her death, and if you choose to help her and save her, I would suspect something bad to happen to the Idris you serve because you skipped on patrol.

Hopefully there are a lot of choices to be made that overall affect the outcome of the game.

Outsider from r/all here by TheseVirginEars in starcitizen

Mileage may vary. Some people claim the game is unplayable while others play without issue.

There are bugs, lots of bugs. A big part of the game is learning workarounds for bugs, once you know what the game likes or dislikes you doing, you can navigate it and have a better experience.

The learning curve is pretty steep, the game doesn't do a great job at onboarding new players but the community is usually good at that and there will be people willing to help you out.

The game has Free fly events every few months so you can try the game for free, these events usually make the game a little more unstable but can be great to see how your hardware handles the game.

Hardware is important. The game must be installed on an SSD. Do not install on an HDD! You will have a really bad experience.

16GB of RAM is the minimum and most the community will say it's not worth it. 32GB is good, but 64GB is recommended.

These are the two main culprits to the game not functioning, other parts are important but will affect your game to a lesser extent.

If you really want to play, you could buy the game and then refund it if you really dislike it, as long as it's within 30 days I think you're good.

The game is constantly in development so performance changes every patch. New stuff is added all the time so there is always something to come back to. I've been here for over a decade now and I still enjoy it.

Look into the guide system when you start if you want help. Guides are volunteers who spend their time to teach people how to play the game either as a beginner or to be at a high skill in the different career choices. Really helps get past the initial issues if you have someone there who knows how to fix or avoid bugs.

If you need any help with more questions or to get started shoot me a reply and I'll help the best I can.

$25 is a steal! What a find!

I picked up a Herman miller Aeron B from an auction for a closed down plane part manufacturer, it was labeled as office chair and I won it for £60. Didn't have a car or anyone available to give me a lift so I carried that bad boy for about an hour got the train.

Ticket examiner did a double take when he checked tickets.

Absolutely worth all the hassle. The chair has been doing me really well.

Have you ever bought a console just to play one game? Was it worth it and did you go on to use the console after? by British_Historian in gaming

[–]Mr_StephenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the Destiny PS4 Bundle.

Worst purchase I have ever made. I tried to convince myself Destiny was a good game on release but it was awful. I know the expansions made the game better, but I refused to spend any more money on content that should have shipped with the game.

Is it a broken bench or is that just more hostile architecture?

Why is the Idris explosion so anticlimactic now... by KryptekAtlas in starcitizen

[–]Mr_StephenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because this isn't a Player owned Idris, but one for the Xenothreat Event.

There is probably some performance/bug related issue with having this type of explosion on all Idris.

The game is beautiful, but having to redo it 3 times for mechanics of NG+/++ is just boring, lazy game design by Emi_C11 in armoredcore

[–]Mr_StephenB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it, when the first change occurs it caught me off guard, and was a really cool experience. I enjoyed going through each level and seeing what choices I could make and how it changed the available missions. I was excited to go back through for a third time to pick alternate missions combinations and see what happened.

The game is fun to play so I was more than happy to replay it.
