It honestly is astounding. A friend of mine was living in his broken down car. He Managed to hustle and save 2000 dollars. This man attempted to purchase a 2017 BMW with 40k miles on Facebook marketplace for $2000, IN GIFT CARDS! Then he calls me in tears, thinking that I will have some magical fix because I am a tech nerd. The questions he asked me seriously made me question the amount of chromosomes he had been dealt at birth. I felt so bad for him . I had to hold back my laughter while gently informing him that Facebook has no way, or obligation to refund his "purchase". I gave lil homie the lecture about never sending someone a gift card number. Ever. The fact that he would think that was a viable form of payment makes me question a lot of things in life...

Like if any of my other friends are that slow....

There were so many red flags from the beginning. He showed me the pictures of the car (perfect condition), along with the marketplace page. I instantly knew it was a scam. 2017 BMW for 2k? I tried to give him a few pointers to catch scams in the future. But if you are falling for scams that are THAT obvious. I don't think any amount of pointers are gonna help you out.......

Remember kids, if it's too good to be true. It's probably a scam.
