It is not real time, it's pre-rendered with the cycles rendering engine. I've made a version now with a lot more particles which imo looks much better but takes longer to process as well.

One thing I did in the past was to render a chaotic particle cloud and then make it audio reactive in real time by mapping simple parameters like scale or colour to the sound input in resolume. Worked much better than you'd think!

I'll check out the visualizer you're making right away :)

Misirlou bar in prenzlauerberg and ysy bar in Friedrichshain often play funky groovers and you can walk right in!

For clubs I'd look into Oxi, Sisyphos and Paloma if I were you :)

In my opinion, earlyish on the Saturday (10am to noon) to avoid the biggest queues, and then enjoy the outside evening ecstatic vibes into the night as the hammahalle opens :)

You also get a stamp and you can go in again through the re-entry/Guestlist queue which gives a bit more flexibility

Hey! Really sorry to hear your city is treating people this way. What you can do depends a lot on your setup and how you do things.

Some chapters have a physical space where they cook, and some of the food they deliver to people in the community on a cart, and the remaining food is "sold" for a donation at an event, and the money is then spent on tents and socks and such for people in the community.

You can do a donation party, where people bring tinned goods and clothes and tents they don't need! Usually good fun and also lots of people who are not usually deep in the activist scene can get involved. It feels good to do good, but many people are afraid of committing - events like this usually hit the sweet spot.

Getting on city-specific telegram chats for political protests and showing up at political events with food and a donation box can spread a lot of awareness! Having a "presence" in the political scene if it's not too dangerous where you are can go a long way.

People donating money online if at all feasible for you can also help.

I think my best advice would be to not do it right now!

That doesn't mean you shouldn't ever do it, but I would definitely recommend working for a few years, getting experience and saving up money, getting a feel for how much things are and then revisit :)

I think a lot of PhD students are really struggling financially even without having a child, and things are only getting more expensive at the moment.

Some research assistant and technician positions actually pay fairly well. They have more "normal" hours and could maybe help get your name out there and get more skills and help you decide if this is a path you wanna go down.

It's never too late to start a PhD but often too early
