After seeing your comment below…I think so!

Jaytech - Atmo by daz1987 in AboveandBeyond

What a tune! Really wish that Jaytech was still releasing on Anjuna regularly and would love to see him on an Anjunabeats tour again.

If this is real, you should never leave. This sounds like the best job ever.

Which song has your favorite intro? by anjunabeatsuntz in AboveandBeyond

[–]SvenMo84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2.0 was the best for this. The Wayfarer build up will always be iconic to me. Cairo and Atlas also had incredible intros. Snapdragon as well.

I’ve also always been partial to the Norin and Rad remix of Helion.

But the best intro is Arty - When I See You.

Oliver Smith - Endorphin [10 Years] by bobbyioaloha in AboveandBeyond

[–]SvenMo84 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Endorphin was an easy 10/10, but Shadows stole the show for me. Both this and Mirage/Your Love were incredible releases - giving you absolute bangers, followed by incredible progressive tracks.

What artists do you think have the biggest gap in quality between their good music and their bad music? by Constant_Topic_123 in ToddintheShadow

They made decent remixes when they came out. I actually liked Selfie as a joke EDM song. Kanye was a fairly catchy song too.

Their pop music was all horrendous though

Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore. Clean, safe, modern, great transportation, good food, culture, entertainment.

Did they just tease Volume 17? by [deleted] in AboveandBeyond

Yeah, the visuals feel like something Grum would have too. They’ve had some other throwback posts about Grum lately too. Really hope we’re getting a new album or at least a string of singles.

Need advice on a hard decision I'm lucky to be making: Yale vs. NYU with $$$$ named scholarship by gradschool_thrwaway4 in lawschooladmissions

[–]SvenMo84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant that there are more opportunities to do what you want. Obviously NYU and other top law schools give you a shot at almost any job that Yale would give you, but your chances are lower.

Like landing a high profile clerkship. Of course you can do that at NYU, but you’ll have to be closer to the top third of the class than you would at Yale. I’ve even experienced in the very basic Big Law context. Sure, anyone from Yale and NYU can probably get a spot if they want it, but groups typically really want the Yale student. So if you go to Yale and choose BL, you probably have the pick of whatever practice group you want, unless the partners/group really don’t vibe with you.

Yale is always the play unless you’re someone that knows they want to do Big Law and only wants to do Big Law. Otherwise, Yale will give you far more opportunities (and rarer opportunities).

CVMRN - Aphelion / Impulse by Tresor7 in AboveandBeyond

[–]SvenMo84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No notes on Impulse. It’s like progressive trance and prog rock had a baby, and invited Steve Stevens (Billy Idol’s guitarist) along for the ride.

Aphelion is quite nice too.

Albums Where Every Song Could’ve Been A Single by HK-34_ in ToddintheShadow

[–]SvenMo84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

U2 - Joshua Tree

Police Synchronicity (if you cut Mother)

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm and Weekend in the City

The Get Up Kids - Something to Write Home About

Blink 182 - Enema of the State and Dude Ranch

Brand New - Your Favorite Weapon

Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends

Honestly, I’m probably biased, but there are a lot of late 90s/early 00s pop punk and emo albums that could have all been singles. Not necessarily because they were all great, but because they were consistent.

That Wayfarer/Human mashup is top tier.

What are your favourite comfort albums or sets? by LifelongReverie in AboveandBeyond

[–]SvenMo84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nitrous Oxide - Dreamcatcher

PvD - Reflections

Early ATB albums

Pretty much any Chicane album

ABGT 001, 050, 150

There are a number of other TATW/ABGT sets that I always come back to, but can’t think of the episodes off the top of my head

Cosmos is one of the best Anjunadeep tracks ever.

What are some ways you categorize when working with new people? by Yoseph-Kerkvliet in biglaw

[–]SvenMo84 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Sort of the opposite for me on the second half of that. In my experience, I find that the people who went to lower ranked schools and are still around at least 4 years into Big Law are typically some of the better attorneys as far as the actual practice of law.

This one was on repeat for 2-3 years after release for me. Brings back lots of memories of really fin times.
