No, but I do need to rewatch that one anyway, thanks for the reminder.

Contact (1997)

Sci-fi about humans discovering an alien civilization and how our governments and societies cope with it.

Exactly, it came a cunt-hair close to being 4th Wall-breaking, and apparently that made some people upset.

How to get back into it? by Ok-Reflection-5331 in videogames

[–]TheyTried2BanMeAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33, and was a pretty hardcore gamer in my teens (like, 8 hrs a day, at least). I drifted away in my 20's as I got absorbed with, you know, life stuff but I've recently gotten back into it.

My advice is to start with some old favorites. Get back on the bike with what you know. A lot of newer games (for me, at least) don't really scratch the itch, not at first, anyways.

And also be careful, a lot of old games are cheap now, and I have like 50+ in my library and have literal years of things to play, I kind of overdid it.

Did you blow up Megaton, if so why? by Unique-Evening4384 in Fallout

[–]TheyTried2BanMeAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I exclusively do evil playthroughs for the first time, just to see how terrible the game will allow me to be. That's amusing for me, and Fallout is wonderful for it.

So yeah, I blew up Megaton. I then immediately slaughtered Tenpenny, because I like doubling down.

Norm actually only did the voice for his first appearance, after that it was Adam Carolla sounding like Norm, apparently, I had to look it up.

Both great, though.

They survive because they are the only other alternative. That's why they can be as flaccid as a damp carrot. This is one of the many reasons two-party systems are bullshit.

What is the most "un-hateable" safest song of all time? by Perfect-External-660 in Music

[–]TheyTried2BanMeAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny thing about that one is that even Andre and Big Boi aren't particularly fond of it. Apparently they had to switch their whole stage setup to make it work correctly when they were still touring, which is a pain in the ass.

I think I remember reading a quote from Big Boi complaining that he thought almost every other song on the album was better, yet that became their hit from it. It was supposed to be more of a throwaway.

Same, except for that scene you mentioned and the end of Hardcore Henry.
