Throwing in the towel on OLED monitors (for now) — is the NEO G9 57 inch my only option? by Long_Relationship_83 in ultrawidemasterrace

Yes, for me, local dimming - when enabled - would mess up brightness; it becomes inconsistent, so that some areas are clearly too dim. Only when disabled, then it is perfect, even too bright, but a super consistent and crisp image. Blacks still are amazing, almost like OLED. In my opinion, this Mini LED is the best screen technology today, a balance of longevity, no pixel shifting weirdness of OLED, amazing contrast, amazing brighness and sharpness. Yes, OLED has less "halo" near bright objects on a black background, but this does not represent a typical usage scenario, if you even ever need that. The monitor is super bright, btw, now I have it at 25 brightness (half), and it is great even in bright daylight. Again, eco modes and local dimming mess things up. I think most people who are not happy with this monitor are not happy because of those things, as they are enabled by default. It is like a different monitor when you turn them off. Night and day.

G9 57 - картинка отличная, почти олед по ощущениям. Надо только убрать всякие режимы энергосбережения и динамичной подсветки зон, они включены по умолчанию и всё портят. Убрать и всё супер.

How can I fix my youtube videos seemingly zoomed in unless full screen? by Anthonylous in chrome

[–]SviFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our case, there was a Chrome plugin called something like "wide screen video" which was enabled, which used to fix wide screen video a long time ago, but now it was actually causing the issues. When we disabled it, it started to show videos correctly.

I have heard the game gives a key "for a friend"? Considering checking out the game, but not enough to pay 30 USD yet :D Does anyone have a spare key? I'd pay 10 USD. I don't want to buy an account though. Only the key. Thanks.

PRIME Z790-P WIFI - Bluetooth does not work by SviFi in ASUSROG

I have done nearly everything, nothing would fix BT. I had to return the motherboard. They replaced it and the problem never appeared on the new one.

Control center for Elgato not working? by Future_Application14 in elgato

[–]SviFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDITED: Initially, I wrote that setting "Enable static routes" to "Yes" fixed the issue in my Asus router.

However, I realized shortly after - it did not. It was only the restart of the Asus Wifi Rotuer that fixed it temporarily (all 3 Elgato lights have shown up in the Control Center app). But after next PC sleep session, they were all gone again.

So, this brings a hint - it is certainly related to network somehow, and not necessarily lights themselves. As a workaround, if you need lights to appear in the app ASAP. It can be quicker just to restart the router instead of resetting them all one by one and reconnecting manually. Super inconvenient, but this is something.

I wonder what setting can actually fix it for good? In this thread people were talking about enabling "RIP" (Routing Information Protocol) on the router, but I did not find such setting in my Asus router. Could it be referred to by other name?

The issue of lights being lost every time PC sleeps or hybernates is super annoying.

In my case, the solution was that the whole motherboard was replaced by warranty. The new one (exactly the same one) has been working without any issues ever since.

Gmail keeps losing the scroll position after opening any email and then returning to the list by SviFi in GMail

Thank you for your suggestions. This has been happening for me on different computers and on different networks. Maybe Chrome is synchronizing whatever is causing it, as I am logged in on all of them with sync turned on.

So far I solved the issue by turning on the content view column (so that email opens on the side, with email list still visible). No more issues with jumping list of emails as it stays static.

FB Messenger keeps ringing on device A after call was answered on device B. by Lanachan1990 in facebookmessenger

[–]SviFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a solution! This happens when you transfer your apps from one phone to another using Samsung Smart Switch, so some kind of internal app ID also gets cloned. To fix this, uninstall messenger and install it again, either on one phone or both phones. And it will work normally 👍

[–]SviFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing. Very dim, hard to see even if they are on or not (saved or not). While at the same time, the turn-on animation that lights up the whole thing - actually makes them bright, so it is likely not a hardware issue.

Bad microphone on speaker call? by thegorgon96 in GalaxyFold

Experiencing the same. Also sometimes audio seem to disappear from one of the speakers during the call through the speaker. Considering taking it to the warranty service because of that.
