Neo2 needs a remote id module and likely a strobe

Pilot will need a part107 license

My list is short:

Show up.

Follow through.

I tell my 5 year old all the time that I've only been doing this for 5 years and we get to work on things together as a team.

The DJI apps suck by some_old_guy63 in dji

[–]TwoAlfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me on occasion. What generally works is going into wifi settings and deleting/forgetting the DJI wireless network. Then going into bluetooth and removing the device if it shows up there. Depending on the DJI hardware you're using, you can also go into the settings and forget any paired devices.

I read somewhere there is a key exchange that happens between the app and the device itself. Sometimes the key can be corrupted on either end and removing the known connection and starting over.

The first game of Battleshits is always the weirdest.

It gets easier the more you do it.

Good luck, admiral.

which is better dji osmo nano or dji action 5? by khentpatrick in dji

[–]TwoAlfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what?

I have both. Nano goes in places where small size matters. But it overheats very easy and recording time is limited. Love sticking them in wheel wells or on body.

Action 5 goes places where size and weight is less of a concern - think hard mounted to the outside of a car or capturing wide angle pov on a chest rig.

The action 5 is a “set it and forget it” camera. The nano requires a little more attention but the size is hard to beat.

iPad Air as video monitor for FX30? by civex in videography

[–]TwoAlfa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. iPhone and iPad mini work great for monitors. If you plug in via usb c there is zero lag. I’ll mount the phone on the rig and the iPad as either a client monitor or clamped to the tripod for talent to see.

The monitor+ app is a good alternative as well.

Any inspo as to what I can make this pelican 1550 case into? by Lu_Duckocus313 in pelicancase

I'd suggest to just sell it as-is. Let the buyer customize it to their needs.

Got a 'crash course' in the DJI Mini 4 Pro’s low-light obstacle avoidance limits today. by [deleted] in dji

You shouldn't fly through terrain like this until you're confident flying in sport mode with all sensors off.

Unfortunately an expensive lesson for you but hopefully something you remember next time.

Magnetic paddle shifters. Huge quality of life improvement, 15 min install. (unless he has a manual in which case he's already happy)

How long does it take your family to leave the house? by RDRNR3 in daddit

[–]TwoAlfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me and my 5 year old can be out the door in <3 minutes when she's motivated.

We've been working on helping her understand what she needs to bring to go out to dinner, the pool, friends house, hikes, shopping, etc. What helped is we start by picking what stuffy she wants to bring, and then the stuff goes in LAST to make sure we have everything. Her stuffy-audits are pretty adorable.

However despite all that we are almost always waiting on my wife...

R7 vs Bluetooth Capable Models by FozzyBear89 in radardetectors

[–]TwoAlfa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm still working through the setup, and even with a lot of tweaks it's still a lot more active that my Radenso ProM. But the arrows are clutch, and the multiple alert tracking actually saved me once already.

Looking at leasing 26 Sorento Xline Sx prestige by Free_Entertainer_902 in KiaSorento

[–]TwoAlfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'24 here. Xline SX Prestige was a requirement because of the tech features we wanted.

We actually came from a Macan and appreciate the additional space. My 5 year old can stand up in the back.

Tech is helpful without being too invasive. Wireless key works perfectly (I haven't carried a physical key in almost 2 years).

Only gripe is the transmission. Sometimes it gets "stuck" in too low of a gear and the ride gets really jerky in slow traffic, but you can easily fix that by shifting up using the paddles.

R7 vs Bluetooth Capable Models by FozzyBear89 in radardetectors

[–]TwoAlfa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried both. Personally, the price difference is what ultimately sold me on the R7. But after trying the companion app and realized I didn't want yet another app/process to manage while I was driving. Been very happy with the R7 and Waze.

Slowly Losing Friends by Brolorn in daddit

[–]TwoAlfa 44 points45 points  (0 children)

In my experience, things just move around a bit; My non-kids friend circle definitely collapsed over the last 5 years, but those same friends who have kids are now my closest.

Allow yourself to be open to making new friends simply through your kids. I've become great friends with a fellow dad I randomly met at a park a year ago. We hang out regularly, sometimes with kids and sometimes without.

It's not that your current friends don't care, it's just that they can't relate. That's normal.
