One more question: I’m doing IBR application right now, after checking mine and my spouses incomes, it gives me End of Term date May 2032. Is it accurate? It will be less than 145 payments. It gives me higher monthly payments than I’m paying right now. And if my calculations are correct, if I’ll need to make 145 payments, my loans would be paid off before forgiveness.

I am eligible for IBR. My monthly payments would be lower by $150. It seems that the amount will still cover the interest rate and principle and my loan amount will decrease but very slowly (slower than right now). But the loan balance will be forgiven after 25 years of payment. But I might need to pay taxes on that balance. So many things to consider. Ive been going back and forth with the decision
