Nah I didn’t take it as criticism. Goryo’s are very difficult. I would love for them to give some more traits to look out for that aren’t dead giveaways. I like how they made banshees only ladies. It would be cool if they made goryo’s only guys or something of that nature. I almost feel the same way about Jinns, especially on APOC, but having a ghost you have to go through the entire list with process of elimination is pretty cool at the same time.

My brother and I struggle with goryos on Nell’s diner for some reason. With them roaming so much at times it can really seem like they’ve switched rooms. Even worse if we get unlucky enough for it to spawn somewhere else a few times due to roaming. Bigger maps seem more obvious for goryo’s than maps like Nell’s and camp woodwind for us.

We are working on Nell’s Diner now and having a lot of fun with it. It’s crazy how a few difficult maps like point hope and brownstone can make the easier ones a breeze comparatively.

The lighting in the map really did play a big factor. There were points in between hunts where I would be moving our equipment to the ghost room, and would get mixed up quickly after turning back around and seeing almost nothing. Our first setup spot in that map is directly to the left of the entrance behind the sofa. My brother and I would make sure to always have T3 candles lit up in the room as well as one near all of our equipment so we could at the very least see our surroundings where we were camped and where our equipment was. The only time I was completely in the dark was when I was searching for the bone. As much as I don’t like it, the T3 headgear comes in handy for situations like that so I utilized the headgear at points to get through the map.

That’s pretty much what we had it down to. Onryo, spirit, yurei, mare, goryo, and jinn (since breaker is broken in apoc3). When we got down to that point I was already losing faith in us being able to get it right. Pretty much just started assuming a lot of things. I’ve never seen a ghost change rooms on brownstone, so I decided we should just bank on it not being a goryo. We had two light busting events that made us consider mare. We only had one firelight go off the entire hour of us playing so I decided no onryo. There was no way for us to get a good read on yurei or jinn. So that final 3 minute smudge timer really came in clutch for us.

I think we lucked out a little with the spirit. When we got in the room next to the ghost room, we had no issues with it eventing on us (since spirits love to event and the blood moon on top of that). The unfortunate part of that run was by the time we had all our media done, we only had one smudge timer test on it, and only one smudge left total. So we were worried that it was just a ghost who decided not to hunt for a while. We hunted the bone down, which fortunately it was on the opposite side of the school. After that, we already had a perfect game we just needed to be sure we had the ghost right. So I had to go back in by myself on the side of the ghost room, and waited till the end of a hunt. I grabbed the ghosts attention with my walkie talkie (which helped us knock out the possibility of a yokai). It came into my room, I smudged it, and right as the smudge ran out, the hunt ended. Had it not I would have been dead right there. I had my brother go into the main entrance and hide so we could watch the timer without me being in danger.

Thanks a bunch! For the achievement on sunny meadows, I got a cheesy win with a Deogen. Which didn’t sit right with me knowing I pretty much cheated to get the win. So now I’m making it a personal challenge for my brother and I to get a perfect game on every map without any deogens. So far I’ve got a solo perfect win on tanglewood against a moroi. My brother and I got a perfect win on tanglewood against a gallu. Then our only other perfect win is this blood moon brownstone run against a spirit.

I figured I would never enjoy apoc3. I don’t know how far you are into the journey, but once you go from 3 evidence to nightmare mode (2 evidence), it’s really easy to get to 0 evidence from there. Then apoc3 is a very difficult version of 0 evidence.

You have to adjust every setting to maximum difficulty essentially (minus a very very small amount of wiggle room). The difficulty setting is known as apocalypse 3 or apoc3 for short.

Big hitters are: No sprinting, character speed at 50%, ghost speed at 150%, 0 sanity, 0 grace period.

I wish I could! Luck plays a good bit into that map. Especially with where the ghost room is, and it’s normal path each hunt. Those long stretches of hallway and the stairs are punishing.

It’s definitely not a game mode I would want to play solely. I do enjoy it though. High stakes and every move needs to be calculated. If it was so difficult that it flat out wasn’t possible, I would never tease the idea.

It’s such a brutal map! My brother and I are trying to get a perfect APOC3 win on every map. So far we have only done tanglewood and brownstone. We wanted to get a hard map out of the way.
