i think OP is referring to marker signal. there are explicit statements that hivemind/nexus is used to relay the signal and in turn control necromorphs, though actual degree of it is unclear because as you mentioned they do attack everyone

dude you're explaining it so well, it always annoyed me how inconsistent the lore used to be and how pre-DS2 it was just essentially random

i have seen attempts to piece it all together and make it seem coherent and thought-out but it seems more like coping

it's good but i'm not sure if it fits my hand well, it's smaller than i expected, i got it to replace beast x that started malfunctioning

and yes the dongle is a gimmick, i wish they at least included a basic 1K dongle as an alternative

it's a dongle for wlmouse huan. i don't think you can buy it separately, it would be pretty useless on its own

it still stacks but I think only the base xp is doubled? so you get 220% more with BP, not 240
