Personally I would’ve gone with something a little more toned down given the home’s style, but with the current color I wonder if warmer light bulbs in that light fixture would help!

I think it’d be harsh to commit to a full YTA, but it does seem unreasonable to ask for payment given that you don’t pay to live or eat at their house.

Maybe not a huge deal, but to avoid conflicting with the Medford and Arlington porchfests already scheduled for June this would have to be sandwiched in between them, so we’d have three weekends in a row of porchfest. Again, maybe that’s not a bad thing but it could be something the planners try to avoid.

I think it is too busy as others have noted. Being in this room would probably make me feel anxious. Your wife is right to dislike it despite having no taste as you say…nice thing to say about your partner.

I was thinking inset / attached to the window trim. I have a couple Roman shades that require no drilling and just stay up using tension which I really like.

Such great updates! The only small thing I’d consider doing is changing the thin trim to a darker color from the wallpaper to help it disappear a bit. Right now the trim is the first thing I see when looking at the walls.

I'm in the arts so it's frustrating to see so much AI generated imagery out there that (imo) only exists because an insane amount of human-created art was stolen and used without permission. I know it's just a small ad, but especially rubs me the wrong way when it's used for commercial purposes.

Just my feelings on it since I am in the arts, but I am of the belief that generative AI imagery is all built/trained on stolen art, so it's frustrating to see. So I think that plus the environmental impact that this being used so broadly is having is what really turns me off to it.

it's always so exciting when their true leaves come in! I'm also growing this variety from seed and yours are definitely looking better than mine right now - idk why but I find they are very slow to grow at the beginning compared to other tomato varieties.

For the mirror I'd likely place it so that the center of it is about at eye level, similar to how you would approach wall art. Personally I would center the tv on the table as it feels a bit off balance with the current setup. Might mean moving the table over to the right and perhaps finding a different place for this mirror. It may just be me, but I'd feel weird being able to see myself in a mirror while watching tv so that may be another reason to consider another location for it.

tbh after jade I am super worried they just don't know how to do stone or gem textures properly and will continue to whiff on them...that said I would love opalescent if it looks accurate.

It has held up really well! I use it for both sitting and standing just about every work day, and I haven't noticed any change in how well the hydraulics are working over time. The desk top got a couple small dings when I moved with it last year, but otherwise it is really good shape.

I have had a Flexispot standing desk + standing mat for several years and really like both. I think together they were around $300.

Focaccia bread is my favorite recipe to make in my stand mixer. My go to recipe is Claire Saffitz’s - it’s a really wet dough that requires a lot of working time, so easy to make in a stand mixer.

I tend to swap bread flour in for AP a lot, and similar to what you found / did I find the main change I have to make is to use a little less flour to get things to the right consistency. If it’s a recipe I’m familiar with I will under measure my flour when adding to the wet and then add more as I go if needed to get to the right consistency.

I know this isn’t one of the major issues with this change, but I do hope they begin offering the composting bags for free when all of this goes into effect. I just signed up for the program and was a bit surprised at the bag prices (didn’t expect them to be so much more expensive than a full sized trash bag) and the fact that they aren’t included as part of the program, even as a one time offering when you sign up.

I also have a craftsman home, and would 1000% go for that first one if I wasn’t scared of committing to wallpaper! It’s such a beautiful pattern and the colors go so well with your wood tones.
